No different to this is it
I can’t even tell what you’re trying to illustrate with the blurryness of that image 😂 but Adelaide supporters have no right to pretend they’re owed any favours by the umpiring department.

Gil has thrown the goal umpire under the bus while backing in his leagues shittruck arc system

When will this snake gtfo

Look I'm no big fan of Gil, but if he'd backed the umpire we'd all be telling him he's refusing to take responsibility.

He said it was a mistake, he was clear that it should have been overturned, and he reiterated that all humans make mistakes. I'm not sure what else you can ask for? The ARC system didn't even factor into this.

I believe it's the free kick that the umpire missed and led to them apologizing to Adelaide in the first Adelaide Collingwood game this season.

The Crows just released a press statement via Twitter saying they accept the AFL's apology and explanation about human error and will take no further action or appeal the result.
They don't have a bloody choice. The AFL will punish them by way of the 2024 FIXture if they don't. I'm comfortable with the fact that the umpire made a mistake. It's the lack of the AFL finding a way, or even looking for one, to make improvements so this doesn't happen again that infuriates me. The only saving grace is that it wasn't against a Victorian opposition. We're spared the #VICBIAS bullshit at least

That’s the one where you guys went around smacking Nathan Murphy in the head no?

Some honestly believe it was #VICBIAS because The Swans wear the initials of South Melbourne Football Club on their club jumper lol

Not disagreeing but did your team get an apology for that missed call? No, so move along mate.
Haha “move along”.

I’m happy to just remind your victim complex mate that you get the rub of the green occasionally, just like everyone else does. Last I checked this was a forum which should welcome such contribution - not some Adelaide Crows specific fanboy site.

44 seconds from a centre bounce with the 6 6 6 rule is more than enough time for a team to score.

You can't reverse the result and punish us for a mistake that had nothing to do with us.

It's s**t but all that can happen is the AFL say it was the wrong call, should have been reviewed and that they will conduct a review of their process going forward.

Maybe a public flogging of the goal ump to appease the masses.
1 minute 11 seconds.

You can’t get decisions like this wrong and I want goal umpires to be decisive. However now we are going to go to the Arc a bunch of times now for what will be obvious decisions holding up play and wasting time.
It’s going to get frustrating real quick, starting today. How many 40 minute quarters?

Feel for the Crows as that is just cruel and a terrible way to lose a game.

Swans get lucky through no fault of their own and hopefully it sparks change that the Arc can call for a review at anytime for howlers like this.

Adelaide had their chances in the last qtr it is never about the one decision. You lose because you weren't good enough always believe that. Always will. Adelaide have had their lucky breaks during the season against Hawthorn for instance. Hawthorn were just not good enough Adelaide took their chances

Yeah the overreaction will kill the game

Really need to just put this down as a one-off human error by a spud goal umpire

Essentially, he is inadvertently admitting that this could happen again and they (the AFL) are not going to look at ways of making sure it doesn't.

'Ho hum human error' is not good enough in the context of goal umpires. I can stomach that in context of field umpires who make hundreds of interpretations (under pressure) per game but not goal umpires who are essentially linesmen/women. Goal umpires don't make interpretations e.g. prior opportunity, they make yes/no calls. The AFL has to look at the system and how it can overrule goal ump **** ups.

Gillon went the easy option.

Yeah this is the problem with the Arc being able to review everything. Maybe save it for the final 5 minutes of the final qtr like the NFL does with all calls coming from the booth ( Our Arc ) in the final 2 mins of a game for scoring plays as everything is checked upstairs score wise.
