Loved that win!!

Did it come across on tv how much of a flog team Brisbane are?

Constant holding and straggling of Izak, general a-hole behaviour.

Made it very sweet.

Brisbane ade so soft. All it took was us showing we won't lie down and they gave up.
Was great to see Rankine work through that and still have a very good game. I have noticed it is becoming a common tactic for opposition teams to get physical with Rankine with constant holds and niggle at stoppages. He has not coped all that well previously and it has put him off his game. But tonight he didn't get caught up in it and went to another level at certain times throughout the game. Back to the form he showed earlier in the year.

A great game and an awesome win

16 tackles by Laird
great evasive skills by Milera again at last. he was impresive tonight
better accuracy in front of goal
massive pressure for 4 quarters
better decision making by Keays tonight.
great goals by Rankine and Rachelle... was very happy with Rachelle in particular due to the goal kicking comp :D
Dawson showed good effort and leadership, as he mostly does.
Solid 1st game back from Worrell

So you’re keeping him in defence then?

Only reason you don't is Smith and Hinge are back.

Still, that might give us a bit of confidence to try Hinge as an inside mid. Lightning has struck once with that switch and that performance shows we could handle losing another key rebounder out of our backline.

Proud of the boys tonight. We’re showing a mental resilience after having had a very poor game last week. Wasn’t looking great when we were pounced on by the Lions in the first quarter but manage to claw our way back and kept at it all game.

GOOD - we’re now a team who doesn’t drop our heads after having losses.
  • the maturity on display is palpable by the young players
  • Rachele and Rankine goals are contenders for goals of the year. One a deft kick on the left in a very acute angle. The other a sweet pseudo-banana tumbler on the right on a similar acute angle. Just beautiful! 😍

Also glad to see Worrell getting the opportunity and playing very well. Him and Cook are the two I want to see more of.

We’ve now beaten 3 of the top 5 teams on current ladder! Melbourne we’ve yet to play and the loss against the Pies was by only 1 point. That’s actually a seriously good result for a rebuilding team!

Taranto is 10 times the footballer Keays is.
Did I say otherwise ? .....that's what you read into it

Taranto's kicking is woeful ....it has been this year, it has his whole career .....it's why GWS had him playing as a FWD ....it's why commentators have been discussing it, in recent weeks

Can Taranto get the ball, absolutely

What critics of Keays forget, is that not every kick has to be perfect ....the chaos ball has helped get RICH 3 premierships .....fwds like chaos ball's, they generally react quicker to the incoming ball

Taranto makes Keays look like a highly skilled player
He makes lees errors than what people think, his errors stand out because they always look worse

Most of the time he gets the ball from A to B as proven by stats this year

Yeah..

gotta give it to Milera.. played great and some of his dance steps were vintage Milera.. the lions couldnt get their hands on him.

and also gotta say Jones was excellent too.. even though he was a bit quiet in the second half, he was brilliant and helped keep us in it in the first half.

Sloane again awesome in the last quarter.. and slow and pretty crap for the first 3 quarters!… they meed to make him sub and bring him in in the second half When the opposition tire and slow down.
Sloane is our second half specialist this year

Coaches using him wisely

Have to make this win count next week against Gold Coast. With West coast the week after it we can be 8 wins, 5 losses at the bye.

Probably need 13 wins to play finals. With 23 games to be played we only need to win 5 of the last ten if in that position.
As happy as I am and bullish on us medium term

Can’t see us winning next week

Keays is one I'm comfortable in Finals .....would not let the occasion get to him ....and apply pressure from minute 1, to minute 100

He's a player that will lift a side floundering, with his never say die attitude .....every team needs one of those

BRIS had Mitch Robinson

Keays 2 turnovers tonight from his 28 disposals

Elite ball users Rich 10 turnovers, Dawson 9 turnovers

Nobody's perfect...
