The lad is universally hated by the rest of the AFL players in the comp too by the looks..

watching that game last night and Ports 2 other games this year.. JHF is really being targeted for some dirty treatment at the bottom of the packs.. even saw Dawson last night push JHF’s face into the turf at one stage.. saw a couple of other crows players use their elbows to “massage” the back of his head and neck in completed tackles..

its not just the crows.. the other clubs are doing it too..

reacon the words got around amongst the AFL players.. target the little mummies boy flog.
Maybe if he used less mouth he wouldn't be but there is no cure for stupid.

McAdam back soon. I wonder if they drop Murphy as he's in for him. Nick's really praised Murphy, maybe they drop someone else and keep Murphy in when Shane's back. Pedlar will be fine with that tackle.
Going on the last two weeks.. Murphy stays in.. Keays out for McAdam.

really hope so on Pedlar.. i though so watching the game but I’m not so sure after seeing it a couple of times since..

The Good - the anticipation of watching Kano this morning…the mental gymnastics he will need to perform for the car salesman, Old man Boak and his new love child will be tremendous
Prediction: he will say with 1984-doublespeak perfection that PA lost the game via this or that understandable tactic, and not that PA were outcoached by Nicks (I never thought I would say that, btw), matched for three quarters, then run over in the last.
Convincingly.

If Houston was concussed, Pedlar would be in strife.

Afl is fortunately quite reactive to these things.

Ah, Sunday morning…..watching the replay, bacon & eggs, coffee, browsing the Port board, two short working weeks ahead. Not sure it gets much better!
Adelaide United also beating Western Sydney and sitting firmly in the top 2 , the SANFL side also smashing Port so that horrid jumper didn't get to experience anything close to the heritage they all bang on about.

If it wasn't for my company merging on Saturday and the absolute shit show I know Monday is going to be with 100k people all trying to call to get their new Superannuation details I would be so high on cloud 9

Whatever happened to the the protected zone?

For that matter, for any AFL Umpire out there, please explain WTF is the protected zone if this the way you define it (?)

You yell out "Stand!" and a player has to freeze in front of the mark, yet anyone can sneak up right behind to tackle the moment you blow the whistle? Seriously WTF is that BS?
They will come out and justify it no doubt. They’ll say he played on before spp had time to exit the area. They’ll probably pretend like the ump called play on too

It is nearly at the point where for Boak the time to call it quits.

A courageous player who has given his all to the club but unfortunately there will be no flag for Boak.

I know that everyone goes on about Port having the best talent of the two but is that based on potential or actual performance. I mean can Orazio or Junior Willy win a game off their own boot? Go thru the sides and compare, I reckon you will form a different opinion.
Boak, Jonas, Lycett and Dixon are all just about done. They have now passed their window and need to go through their own rebuild. Lots of dead wood to clear out.

Next time any Tealster or Port player/employee talks about how about important the Prison Jumper means to them, just remember tonight's game and laugh.

It is just a PR gimic, to sell jumpers. A myth to their supporters and a cash grab as they buy those jumpers.
Problem is, PORT put so much emphasis on the importance of their prison bar Guernsey ......their supporters are being "conditioned" to believe their normal Guernsey is an inferior & reluctantly accepted version

Koche has a lot to answer for, in living in the past & not forging a new future .....you don't see FREO carry on about their equally strong heritage

I've been one of his biggest fans since day one, but Soligo has had an underwhelming start to the year given where I thought he would take his game. Still pops up for some classy moments though.
I think that's because he hasn't been used as much in the middle. In the first game, he was still just about the only mid who got centre clearances.

CBA's are being mixed up. Laird 79%, Dawson 62% and Rachelle 53% were primary, but we also ran Keays 21%, Sloane 29%, Soligo 18%, Berry 38% through there. Last year our mix was 4 midfielders so its good to see Nicks use a more diverse mix.
I think this has been overlooked a bit from last night, most here have been calling for Dawson to be pushed up the ground and into the middle for a while now, and last night Nicks finally made the move. He is one of our most important players and it was great having him around the ball so much more than normal. Hopefully it continues and not just a one off.

i realize there is a follow the leader and group think element on forums like this, but seriously what is the sudden turning on Brodie Smith about? This lad has probably been our best player over the last decade and hopefully has 3 or 4 more years at that high level. It maybe hasn’t been his best start to the year, but he is still averaging 17 possessions and the second most metres gained in our side. Add to that he is the best kick we have and has hardly had a score kicked on him all year and still has managed to have the 5th most inside 50s for us and it beggars belief that he is being belted by supporters. If Hamill or Parnell had played at his level everyone would be gushing about them.

we all love seeing young talent come into the side, but every successful side still needs a balance of experienced players. IMO it was our older guys in Sloane, Smith and Laird totally outplaying Ports older guys in Boak, Wines and Jonas that was probably the deciding factor late in the game last night.

He truly struggled in the first three quarters, so much so most thought he’d be the one subbed out for Jones. That final quarter though both he and Sloane contributed enormously to the end result. Dawson asked his senior players to stand up, and they did.

Did anyone see the free kick and goal that cost GWS the game yesterday?

So we had the protected zone rule completely forgotten about in our game, but then up bobs umpire dissent again from nowhere in their game.

The umpiring is actually funny now.

It just makes the game so hard to watch and enjoy when you literally have no idea what the outcome of a decision is going to be, it totally changes from one game to the next.
