CC was a defensive force for us and was a pretty key part of our forward line. Gooch/Murphy still have a long way to go to match him, but both have showed some very good signs.

I agree. Was always defending CCs spot in the team last year. But I am saying it’s not that much of a stretch to see Gallucci providing that sooner than later.

Has been very good for Bris this year, has torn apart a prelim final, while Gooch has played how many games? And how many of those were as good as what CC has played. Way too early to claim that. Same with Doedee over Lever. Sure we are happy with his poor form at Melb, but Jake played well for a number of seasons, and while I hate him I still understand he plays ok.
You cant claim that Jake played well with us because he had two key backs in Talia and Hatigan which allowed him to zone off and mop up and look really good, but then ignore that same point when saying how well Doedee plays the same role.

I agree with both points. I just don’t think it’s as far away as you think. Today’s performance, against lowly GCS, Gallucci was really closing down that space with great speed. It was more than just the one final, and there were some other home and away games where CC was looking an absolute unplayable speedster. But in total we are probably talking about 6 to 10 games. That’s not much for Gallucci to catch up on in terms of what Charlie was to is before he left.

Also agree on Lever vs Doedee. Lever did some great things for us. But Doedee for me is the better player. Arguably not yet, but he is only a handful of 20+ disposal performances away. He marks rather than spoils. His work below his knees is much, much better than Levers as is his work in close. The only thing Jake has over Tom is a few centimetres.

Good
We made a decent in game change - we put some players in to defence when they got a run on.

Bad
We took to long to make the change and at times it looked like we had only one back. I woulda gone with two.

At least we're getting the hang of doing some defensive things. Its what ive been crying out for for a couple of years. We especially need to do it with the inexperienced midfield we have at the mo, cant expect them to be able to beat other afl mids 100 percent of the game.

On the subject of defence, we kept them to a pretty low score whixh is a more important kpi for us than a high score of our own for me atm. Still woulda nearly pulled 200 percent from that game which is important as we could use a bit of %

Has Galluci ever done that statistically in the reserves? Let alone eye test?

Some players step up #harrydear

When I used to go surfing all the time the difference in my surfing when at Aldinga beach compared with what I could do at Cactus Beach or Gnaraloo In WA was massive.
Or skiing at Mt Buffalo Victoria compared with Lake Louise in the Rockies Canada.

Lovely spot and Canadian Rockies my all time favourite destination.

Milera has silky skills and is developing well.

I went on Friday night and I feel sorry for our sanfl players.

When you don’t have the team, it would be very hard to shine as you are getting flogged every week. Fog looked very ordinary against Norwood, but we know he’s not ordinary.

You can cause a turnover without actually recording the turnover against your own stats, it's like the opposite of a score involvement.
Ok I’m going to do a Wayne, did you watch the game with your eyes? There is no way he butchered the ball as you are inferring. Only someone who is stubborn and formulates a position on a player who then can’t admit they were wrong, would form this opinion.

You’ve been wrong about Brown, Crouch boys and you’ve now turned your attention to Milera.

Mate do you even Crows?
You are such a downer all the time.

Don't see how anyone could have enjoyed that game, it was terrible, managing to simultaneously ask the questions "How did we win by so much?" and "How did we not win by more?". An Eagles fan elsewhere said it best, we're behaving just like the Eagles after their GF loss - learn nothing from the wins, and everything from the losses.

Definitely not a game I’ll be watching again any time soon. The result was never really in doubt after about halfway through the second quarter.

It would be nice if we could get through a game without a hamstring injury though. We’ve had someone injure their hamstring in every game apart from R1.

I’d like to see us destroy the opposition like PAP do also.
I think we’re a bit full of ourselves thinking some teams are that far below us that they’re not worth the effort.
It’s the thing that bites us on the bum sometimes.

At least we were on from the start.
Not doing a second quarter catch up which sometimes is too late.

Only an idiot would think we learned nothing from our win last week.
(Another good game by Matt Crouch last night btw)
