Review Good/Bad v Hawthorn, Round 2

You'd be filthy if Sloane copped a week for an untintentional bump, while Miles purposely throwing his elbows into Jenkins ribs is let go.
Sloane was running in a straight line and never deviated. The Hawthorn player literally ran into his shoulder. If he gets a week for that I'll be furious.

Good:
Sauce was BOG by a street.
Otto was handy when JJ went down.
Sloane-dog was as tough as woodpecker teeth all day.
Walker played a bloody good game too against two opponents most of the day.

Bad:
JJs injury

Ugly:
Umpiring fitted in well with April Fools Day

Just watching the replay now. 5mins to go in the third quarter Teia Miles kicked a shocker to lynch about 20m out from our goal.

Cameron was close to him & celebrated Lynch's Mark for a split second then turned around and made a bee-line towards the debutant in Miles & instead of giving it to him he patted him on the back to say bad luck, very rarely do you ever see that on a football field.

Thought Knight was good in the first 1/4 but pretty quiet after that. The 1 on 1 with Burgoyne was the start of another good cameo.

Hampton is very much like early CC. Needs to watch how CC uses a small jink when things are tight but then busts through with straight line speed. Hampton has that speed, he just needs to use it to get separation from the opponents behind him before he side steps the opponents coming toward him front on.

Two more games and I think he'll find it. He is providing plenty of pressure as is so he doesnt cost much to persist with.

He's already got the best side step in our team. Better than Lever and Atkins, Charlie, his agility is off the charts, nobody can get near the guy when he puts the step on!

Personally prefer the Rat's, he is more aware of what's around him.

But once Curtly gets up to the pace of AFL again. Well... His Speed, agility and size threatens to tare a game apart

Wow that was a great win after a terrible start. I was at the game live so my views could be different to that of you who saw on tv.

The good:

Andy Otten - being pushed forward as the other guys weren't making the contest enough, not only did he make the contests frequently he took some good marks at critical times. Seriously hope he can stay in the side as his versatility is excellent.
Curly Hampton - Not a huge possession game as such but his evasion at times when it was hot and we needed to maintain the ball, definitely saw enough potential that we made the right decision keeping him in over Menzel in this instance.
Sam Jacobs & Rory Sloane - Just beasts and warriors all day, enough said.
David Mackay - Has started the year in seriously good touch, I would love to see him sustain it after being a whipping boy (rightfully so at times) for so long. Redemption is a great story.
Tom Lynch - Quiet last week but superb this week, setting up numerous goals and helped get us back in the match with some great involvements.

The Bad:

Jenkins getting injured.
Our slow start again.
Jake Kelly & Hartigans kicking seriously worries me at times. Thought Hartigan got past this last year but seems to have regressed a little.

The Ugly:

Puopolo's free kick was without a doubt one of the worst decisions I've ever seen, also at a critical time. Credit to our boys we just put it aside and rolled on.

Looking forward to checking the replay and seeing how I feel after a more objective viewing.

Lynch was our best player for a 4 qtr effort.
I actually thought lynch was only ok, workrate was back today but his touch and handballs especially have been average at best this whole year. Got enough of it today and needs to make them count next week I reckon.

If Jenkins misses next week I really like the idea of putting Otten forward in his spot.

Best thing about that one was Knight and Burgoyne started at the same spot, Knight burned the older guy off and if not for a bad take, would have been off to the races.

Now imagine what happens if that was Thompson and Burgoyne in a foot race!

Until he steps into trouble , which I felt he did a lot today

Should have added McGovern was great too, his hands are just sublime. It'll be a shame that he probably heads home to West Coast next year though I'll enjoy him every match he's here and live in hope finally someone expected to leave stays.

Good: Mackay has already scored more from 2 rounds this year than he did for all of 2016

That rocket he got at the end of season interview last year must have been legendary.

I saw him cooling Cyril at one stage.

Really? I thought Cyril was MIA. None can withstand the force of D-Mac!

Dmack's running goal from 50 was pretty special.

Which one? :eek::eek::eek:

lets just bask in the glory of this one for a moment

Clearly should have been called "offside"

Disgraceful: Derwaynes lovely comment about the first gamer playing well for taking jenkins out....DIRTY FKKKNNN CAMPAIGNER DOGS the lot of em.

Just watched that dirty little skinny hawk that intentionally used his elbow on jenkins. A suspension is in order to send a message to players using their elbows as a weapon. Very dangerous and i hope he is playing the crows next time we meet.

First thing he ever does on a footy field, is run in with sharp elbows. Plays for Hawthorn. I'm shocked.

Cameron is from QLD. We've been following him closely for some time.

I heard his brother is even better.
