Couldn’t disagree with you more.

Coach has no business in his spot.

The decisions on trades/evaluation of talent/drafting is on par with the Browns the last 3 decades.

Need to completely gut the organization top to bottom and get in people who know what the hell they are doing

Pretty much spot on

We started our rebuild (it was never meant to be scorched earth like it turned out) at the 2018 draft. We hit it hard hoping to refresh and renovate the list.

Typically you try to go to the draft hard 3 times, then start to plug gaps in your list with mature, ready made players and start the climb back up

We hit the draft: 2018, 2019, 2020 then targeted Dawson in 2021 with the intention of starting to see some results

That hasn’t happened.

We are in year 4 of our renovation and rebuild, and still look years away. We have no discernible game plan, our players look confused and unable to stop the run defensively.

Our list looks horrible, and frankly it looks like we don’t know how to develop the players we do have

Unless something dramatic changes, I think we’ll see a lot of off field changes at the end of the year.

How's this list over the last 2 years for starters?

New Chairman : John Olsen

New CEO : Tim Silvers (ex Hawks)

New Head Of fitness : Darren Burgess (ex Demons)

New Coach : Matthew Nicks

New Assistant Coaches : Scott Burns (ex Collingwood) James Rahilly (ex Geelong) Nathan Van Berlo (ex West Coast)

New Development Coach : Marco Bello (ex Hawks)

New Fitness Assistant : Tim Parham (ex PL)

New Data and Analytic person : Chris Sheedy (ex Port)

New Recruiter : Richard Taylor (ex Richmond)

That’s a lot of fluff around only a couple of key pieces. No one cares about admin and junior development positions - that’s not the meat of the operation.

Nick is half way through his 3rd year and it looks bad.

Nicks, Reid & Ogilvie are all sitting on very hot seats right now. Kelly might be too except you can’t shoot everyone at once and Neil Balme doesn’t seem to want to come

I’d expect minimum 2, maybe 3 of those 4 to be out of work at seasons end

Unfortunately we can't get a wizard in to wave a magic wand, we were at ground Zero when Pyke/Burton were finished.

They're gone and we've made a shed load of changes both administrative and in the Football Department....bringing in people from successful backgrounds....it'not going to happen overnight.

No. We were at ten wins when Pyke/Burton left, and expected to spring back up quickly

We hired untried and untested football people who so far aren’t looking the goods. Heck we’ve tried to replace Kelly the last 2 years!

We've just brought in a highly regarded

recruiter Richard Taylor in February who played a big Richmond's build towards their Premierships.

He’s just a replacement body, who fills a vacancy.

Let’s not pretend he’s some coup or that anyone has secretly been crediting him for Richmonds success.

He wasn’t even a full time scout for them back in 2017.

Now, to be clear I’m not having a go at him at all - he’s here to do a job; and that’s all it is, he’s been recruited to fill a vacancy within the team. He’s not a senior hire, with significant responsibility on his shoulders for the overall performance. That’s all.

Hopefully he’ll do a good job. He was previously a scout for division 2 and the academies - so it looks a nice step up for him too 👍

This article is interesting about each teams recruiting departments, for anyone interested
