Hawthorn are in a situation where we can't win with the media now, if we win it will be said that we should have always won it, and have been flag favourites all year, but if we lose we will be known as chokers... I'd definitely take the former (obviously)

This year feels different to last year at the moment, finishing the game with momentum has go me smiling and brimming with confidence, just feel our game plan suits Freo counter style. Also Grand Finals are very rarely played with zones and such, it's one on one contests, will be interesting to see whether Ross' defensive game plan is as effective on Grand Final day where all plans are thrown out the window

If not it will go down to the wire like the last 3 prelims and last years gf, all games we would've won comfortably if we'd kicked straight.

Cause everyone wants to say they predicted it, yet if we do win, it will just be that so we should have as we were the favorites etc etc.

Box Hill had a stirring win today, hopefully mitch wins Chuck tomorrow night and the good feeling around the club will just continue right through to 5pm next saturday.

When was the last time the Hawks faced a full strength Freo? They never send a real team to Tassie. It will be interesting.

I agree with some of the sentiment, why are Hawthorn not respected defensively? And of all the teams in the comp Freo are the least likely to stretch the Hawks. They play a small forward line with a mid sized player as their CHF. Freo are going to find it very difficult to score against the Hawks and the Hawks can score against anyone.

its amazing how we got in that game given gardiner went down injured in the first qtr and we went in with 1 ruckman. pies were red hot. peake was worth absolutely nothing all day. ray had a terrible first qtr.

It was great to see Bailey after the game today supporting and celebrating with the BHH, I think their win will help with the momentum we've been building since the bye rounds.

As a football club we have a great chance this weekend to continue doing what we do best, and that is inflict misery on the Geelong FC. Can end their season in 2 leagues this weekend like so many times before.

There is no reason to fear freo fellow hawthorn fans. As long as the 22 players and coaching staff respect them and their strengths we should win. We are a more balanced team and have a deeper talent pool. The last 10 minutes of Fridays game should instill confidence we can get the job done. It was a great rehearsal for Saturday. High pressure uncompromising from both teams and a GF birth at stake.

I feel so much more confident (and no Freo fans, I am not saying we are going to defiantly win) than last year, even though we won by the same amount of points in the prelim.

I just feel the boys are in brilliant form with a clear focus this year. I think the Freo players are just happy they got here.
