As of writing this the 39 degree heat is forecast for Penrith and Richmond, both of which are more to the West. Giant stadium is aprox 10 km East - Southeast of Paramatta which is going for 37 degrees or a bit over 15 km as the Crow flies West of Sydney which is going for 32 degrees. Based on these forcasts 36 is probably a good guestimate for Giant Stadium, although we do need to realise the closer we get to the coast usually the higher the humidity will be be. I know we are splitting hairs and it will be damn hot regardless, but just releasing the pedantic inner weather nerd or amateur meteorologist. Will be interesting to see what heat protocols are put in place.
At least they won’t be crowded by spectators.

The game is at Giants Stadium.

Giants Stadium is in Sydney Olympic Park.

The forecast for Sydney Olympic Park is 35 degrees on Sunday.

That’s really hot, but let’s stop this 39 nonsense. The forecast is 35 in the exact location where the game is being played.

Milera isn’t injured though
He's underdone which was the original point... that you would want all fit players in mid to hight 30's or will risk players getting injured.

I still can't fathom Brown getting a first up spot albeit a sub. Is Collingwood's squad that strong and Adelaide's that week that we pick a player delisted by the pies in our first up match.
We picked him as sub rather than wasting that spot on a Pedlar or a Schoenberg. Be happy. It could have been Crouch.

the rationale was the height of stupidity. Coming on late in the 4th of a trial game and impacting shouldn't put you ahead of players that played ok from the get go. It's simplistic thinking as apples are being compared with oranges. No big deal though. Apart from Nicks seemingly thinking that EH is a better option than TT in our rebuild and Milera already being referred as 'leader', ie can't be dropped, there's not anything really wrong with the likely 22.

Who says he’s underdone? He played 2 trials, missed one and Nicks said he’s been training still and they set him a program.

He hasn’t missed any of the preseason due to injury

He came on in the third didn’t he? The only player he’s replaced in the 23 is Parnell who Milera forced out anyway. He’s in for his versatility compared to Parnell. He can play defence, wing, mid and forward.

Well we will soon find out whether there has been any impact from being away from the main training group... & whether his mind is fully on the job.

Just dont get the Milera selection as firstly what makes him a automatic choice or a experienced player for our backlines anyway.
Not only last few weeks preparation poor but he is even behind the kids in game time over last 2 or so years .
What has he really done over the years at club and apart from those flashes how many good games played .
Posters talking about done well in pre season but going on what is important the actual practise matches he was average and his intensity levels were poor compared to rest of team and thought Parnell played well .

Yes..and they not only set him a program, they tracked his solo training via GPS. Burgo knows exactly where Junior’s fitness is at.

Not really, his form wasn’t as such that you’d notice a decline in form. I’m not defending his selection based on form just his conditioning.

Personally I would have played Parnell and made Milera sub, I think Parnell has been better this preseason.

Hardly surprising that he was behind in game time in 2021, given that he missed the whole year due to injury. 2022 was always going to be a struggle for him too, given that he had missed 2 whole years to injury, and the nature of those injuries.

I don't rate him, and I would pick Parnell ahead of him every day of the week - but your reasons for not picking him just don't stack up.

Why? Milera hasn’t been injured, he’s just been on personal leave. Graham is playing for Richmond tonight off no trial games and has been fine.
Milera is lazy and not as fit as he should be. I wouldn't pick him on a normal day right now, but in that heat? No chance I'm picking him.

Did anyone want to comment on the inclusion of Murphy in the squad??

Is there anything you've seen over the internal and then the practice games to suggest he should even be considered?

Yup. I'm shocked McHenry has fallen that far, especially as he had the better practice matches.

My hope is we're confident McAdam won't be a late out and just don't care if Murphy plays or not.

He's the 26th player picked, in a team of 23 players. This is a big nothingburger.

I hope this is OK, and if it's not please let me know if there is somewhere else to post. I'm a Richmond supporter coming to Adelaide Oval for the first time next week for the Adelaide V Richmond game.
When I purchased my 2 tickets, I mistakenly clicked on concession, so I now have 2 concession tickets that I can't use. I managed to get myself 2 "normal" tickets, but now I have 2 concession tickets that I can't use. They cost me $99 each and they are in Section S331, second tier.
If anyone would like to buy them, I'll sell them for $80 each or best offer.
Thanks.
