Think Jenkins is using the pope hose promotional irrigation to set up his hydro set up if he’s coming up with these mega trades
You can get quite the education in Adelaide.

I dont think Geelong gets Bowes means gets pick 7.
There will be more devil in the detail.

The other query I have is why would Bowes go to Geelong and spread his money owed from GC out over 3 or possibly four years when he can have it in two as he is owed.

(Free Agent) Karl Amon
Gunston --> (Brisbane) 2023 Third Round Selection
Tom Mitchell + Pick 24 --> (Collingwood) Pick 16 + Caleb Poulter
2023 Third Round Selection [via Hawthorn] + 2023 Fourth Round Selection --> (Fremantle) Lloyd Meek + 2023 Fourth Round Selection

Bring in Amon, Meek, Poulter.
Take 6, 16 and 49 to the draft.
Pick up Fergus Greene as a rookie for cheap forward depth.
Move some of our talented half-backs to the midfield to cover the loss of Tom.
are we linked to Caleb Poulter?

So apparently Bowes has been overseas.

It can be reported all day long that Geelong are currently favourites to secure him, but there is every possibility he will come back to Australia, meet with some clubs and tour some facilities before ultimately deciding. At least you like to think he'd make a fully informed decision.

Karl Amon lite funnily enough. Neat left foot kick, plays wing but sees himself playing inside mid.

yea he is a wing/flanker, he is an accumulator but lacks a bit of hurt factor(for SA and u18's, i think his afl numbers arent great though, 1st and 2nd yr to be exepected i guess), edps was a fan of his pre-draft, hasnt really come on at Collingwood, might be a backup for us?, i prefer Amon and Morrison as wing options though, he hasnt really ever shown he can play inside mid at u18s or against men i dont think mostly playing outside or Handball Receive type footy, so thats airy fairy stuff.

Kennedy himself has stated he was overweight and not putting in at the Hawks and was told he had to displace Sewell in the side. You're right that it wasn't about consistency - more desire and work rate, things that Sewell never lacked.
And then soon after Sewell's form dropped off a cliff :(

If you’re going to have to pay $850k, maybe as well throw on another $50k-$100k to convince him to choose the hawks so we can get pick 7

Wonder if its more appealing to him to paid in full, or even restructured as 1 mil+ in year one.

Cats potentially restructuring less in the short term seems like how he got into this mess.

theres 2 players at Box Hill who could be a good pick ups imo, Fergus Greene and Max Walton, if they dont get drafted they could be SPP or MSD pick ups? possibily?
Good call on Max Walton, if he doesn't get picked up this off season I think he'd be one of the blokes at Box Hill who would be working hard with the Blanck-Newcombe pipeline in mind going into the MSD.

Dave Brinker-Ritchie, Luis D'Angelo and Max Hall are also worth keeping tabs on next season.

theres a good reason they are being delisted.
They're not being delisted. The Suns are, and have said, they would like to retain all of them but will aid their moves if thats what they want.

All three of those guys are being courted by multiple clubs each.

Nothing more insufferable than 'gOLd coAsT pLaYer BaD'

Well Will Langford was on fire at the end of the 2014 home and away season and played well in the finals (3 great goals in the GF), was younger, faster and more athletic so it was the end of Sewelly. Glad that we got that run out of Will - he was a great contributor to our 2014 win - but we know how he ended up.

Potential positive to Geelong getting Bowes and #8:

Fast forward to draft night and Jhye Clark is still available at our pick. Geelong call McKenzie and say hey let's swap picks #7 and #8 and we will throw something juicy your way for the trouble.

McKenzie doesn't respond and hangs up the phone.

Gil: With pick #7 Hawthorn select Jhye Clark.

So they can just as easily turn around and say even if we take him as a free agent you will lose him for literally nothing.

Whatever token pick they give us is technically more than we would get if he were to leave as a free agent. It just isn’t going to net us anything significant
Yeah we can take a token crappy pick ( that we may not even use) but that’s not the point, the point is we will be helping them acquire the best young kid in the land and another highly touted youngster by bending over with Gunston! If it was up to me and Brissy wanted to trade, and not take him as a dfa, then I would be asking for fair trade value

Tall, skillful, smooth mover, was likened to the Bont in that regard.

He's 194cm (?) so is tall for a midfielder. He just needs to get some meat on the bones - he, Day and DGB can lock themselves in a gym with a 24/7 buffet next door.
