How can you compare the two?

Freeman is on 350k pa & we paid pick 30 for him. He has played about a dozen vfl matches in a row.

JOM is on 750k pa & you sold the farm for him. He is basically in a wheel chair.

Simple fact is O'Meara hadn't played for two years because of knee injuries. This year he's played one game in the last 12 weeks and is still listed as "indefinite - knee".
May be unfortunate for the Hawks fans but they have paid lots for very little return.

To be fair the clairvoyant list manager would do their upmost to build the exact list of Geelong or Hawthorn the most successful teams of recent years. Perhaps Judd instead of Ball would have netted us back to back premierships. We'll never know.

I'd do more homework on West Coast, considering we were expecting 2 of Hodge|Ball|Judd before West Coast blindsighted us since we didn't do any real homework on what they needed or who they were looking at.

Then I'd have actually got some people in sports medicine involved, instead of a dude in a suit with a webmd diploma.

But then, we did what we did and still got close, so not a complete failure.

Have heard a little rumour going around, O'Meara won't play another game as his knees are so stuffed. Hopefully for the young bloke that it's a just a rumour & nothing more.
