The gift that keeps on giving ...
You do wonder when the "Career Coach" in Lyon is not even considering the option. I presume their is a lot of back channel conversations amongst clubs and something might be festering that's scaring off a lot of options. Half expecting Ricciutto to annoint himself as senior coach by weeks end.
With the moving of our swapped picks... it's all win-win... Crows miss out on top 3... and Melbourne who do not deserve one of the top 2 guns will miss.
As for us... the pick we were always going to trade whether it be 8/9 who cares as long as it lands us a player(s) we require.
This wont be a popular opinion; I agree with the views of Crows poster, that the latest concessions put the integrity of the current AFL commission into question. AFL encourage clubs to embark on future trading, then change the value of traded picks well after a trade is done by introducing major concessions to a single club. Why would any club risk such an outcome in future. .
Sure, a team needs to evaluate the risk associated with the other teams future performance, But when that value is constantly open to being further diminished at will, how can a club justify that extra risk. its so adhoc. Clubs don't just trade for a draft number, they have an idea of the likely names behind a draft position when making decisions.Seriously?
If you're trading for future picks, you're taking a punt on the finishing position of the other team. Having that pick move back 1 or 2 spots is hardly a big deal, especially taking into consideration the unknown nature of FA compo and Academy and Father Sun bidding.
Of all the issues with the AFL administration, this is well down the list.

Very kind calling most of them “stars” but clearly there are massive issues there.
And clearly it doesn’t end with the coach.
They remind me a lot of where we were in 2014. There’s a cliff fast approaching.
Hahaha
Hahaha
They really did come swinging early in the season, thinking they were top 4 material and we would win the spoon etc... only for their side to be completely and utterly put out to pasture..
I've never seen anything quite like it lol.
They came, they saw, they hit the floor

Mick is still available I believe ..And now are the only team left without a head coach.
North, Carlton, Saints, Freo have all locked theirs in.
Be sure to leave your details in my inbox, I’d love to do business with you; you pay upfront for whatever I sell you, and you won’t mind if I end up substituting what you think you purchased for a less valuable option.A year out? Rubbish.
They might have a rough idea of some of the players rough ratings, but they're not trading for specific players the next year.

It’s not just Burton, Roo and Campo.I'm really interested to see what kind of caliber of coach they attract...tbh can't see any top candidates wanting to go to Adelaide if the likes of Burton are still around.
Cliff is fast approaching because they kept playing oldies and not blooding enough youngsters...their team next year will have a fair few oldies still but lots of inexperienced players, with not enough in the 23-28 age bracket. They will drop.
Also they lost a bunch of mid 20's players who would be next in line to lead the team, such as McGovern, Cameron & Lever. Still might lose a Crouch or 2 as well.
It’s not just Burton, Roo and Campo.
The fish rots at the head and Fagan should be given the boot. He’s the peanut that has allowed the old boys club to ruin the footy dept. Supposedly told Reid “whatever it takes” to secure Gibbs, 12 months after they balked at the same asking price and mere weeks after losing the 2017 GF - completely muddled strategy that may have cost them an AFL premiership.
His time at the Brumbies was hardly a roaring success either, not sure why he’s escaping the blowtorch atm.

Fagan is the CEO - I don’t think any membership group can boot out their CEO.Because their members cant sack him, ie vote him out. He has to step down or either the SANFL or AFL have to do it. Not sure which, think its the AFL actually.
With no coach...how do they think any ‘notable’ player would consider playing there with that unknown?
