Opinion I've lost my faith in Ken Hinkley

What he did/didn't do at Carlton is enough for me to say no

Clarkson, Roos, Worsfold, Matthews, Blight... even Thompson

I think we need a short term, impact coach to bust some heads

In hindsight, Ratten's performance at Carlton was pretty good. Played finals 3 years running coming from being a basket case. They sacked him for Malthouse and then went completely under. Again.

None of Bomber Thompson's assistants turned out too well, did they?

Crows and Dogs had the foresight to offload their coaches for underperformance. We held on to ours off the back of an 18 month semi-revival. Now we're right back where we started whilst those clubs have shot to the top.

The question was... is he a more attractive proposition after spending a few years winning multiple premierships at Hawthorn?

Judging Ratten on his Carlton results alone, which mind you are no worse than Hinkley's results, seems incredibly close-minded.

Can we not use the Bulldogs as any sort of measure or example? Spencer Gully could be an AFL force with their favouritism.

I'm not even sure that making a preliminary final would save Hinkley now. The supporters tend to vote with their feet, and the club will have to listen.

My concern is that it would be similar to Carlton sacking Ratten. Our list feels enormously overrated right now.
Carlton's list and Ratten were overrated at the time.

Interesting, I hadn't really thought of it in that way. Still not sure I'd want him though

What are peoples thoughts on Buckley, at least he knows our so called Port traditions.

May be close minded but I'd prefer to judge his ability on performance in the role, not by association with Clarkson. Clarkson is the key part there, as he was for us in the early 2000s. In that regard no worse isn't really going to cut it. Hinkley was at Geelong in 2007, doesn't mean he's a good head coach.

I would hope that no-one at the club who has the power to make the call would ever consider Voss as the main man, and I suspect it is more likely he is in line for the sayonara as soon as his contract is up.
Voss, Lade. Midfield and forward line non-existent whenever we play a non-basket case.
Aaron Greaves? The man responsible for the deft tap work of Matthew Lobbe and Billy Frampton?
Nicks. Who are you?
Hart.

Bassett is the only assistant coach we have who seems to bring something to the table. He's set up our defensive zone. You can't point to anything else we do and say it's a result of good coaching.
