Probably a good deal for everyone involved. Gives Ben time to focus on recovery and returning to footy in a year. Also gives opposition clubs time to see how that pans out. Why offer him a longterm deal now when it'll be a couple years before he's back to his best anyway.

If he wants money he’ll go the media route. Will get more there and his legacy is intact

GWS is the other expansion team, likely to need a new coach, with a **** tonne of win now talent on the books.
