I’m not sure Essendon will be ok with a rankine commuting from SA, he might miss a training or two.
He wants to come back to SA, no club in their right mind is picking a player who is headed home to a different state.
And remember Essendon didn’t value him enough the first time with their offer, they aren’t upping that now to get a player that doesn’t want to be there.
If the Crows had pick 12, there's no way the media would be saying the crows need to trade down to pick 5 because 12 is not enough.Anyone else hear Roo on The Bump podcast slyly slip out "What did Charlie Cameron get traded for? I think it was pick 12". Wasnt a bad bit of seed planting by Roo TBH.
I may be looking into things, but it wouldn't surprise me if that was going to be the precedent of the Crows trade strategy.
Fair enough too. That's around the mark for me!
Isn't Rowe heading to WB?Adelaide get Rankine
Suns get in return a future second and James Rowe seems fair make it happen Adelaide
Even Crows fans don't think that's fair!Adelaide get Rankine

James Rowe wants to be a in my dreams anywayIsn't Rowe heading to WB?
When was the last time a player didn't get to his preferred destination...What happens if Goldcoast refuses what they view as a lowball offer, then what? he goes to the PSD with $800k on his head and is taken by essendon (if not north or wc) who have made it known they want him.
You seem more heavily invested in this trade than goings on in your own club.Well there's many with highly unrealistic expectations that are not providing logical alternatives.
I'm sensing the possibility of a 3 way trade here.Adelaide get Rankine
Suns get in return a future second and James Rowe seems fair make it happen Adelaide
It most definitely is not.Pick 15-20 is fair.
What annoys me more is when we were losing players for bigger $$ back home AFC copped the whack for for lots of reasons and as supporters our complaints got shut down. Now this is the kind of rubbish that grinds the old gear box.
This goat is a successful businessman worth millions. And from his very secure position wants give a wack to a young kid trying to maximise the worth of his talents, in an industry that can be an injury away from being over.
Bloody disgusting and immature behaviour.
I'd say pick 8-10 is.It most definitely is not.
Thank god you're here, we've been screaming out for more content like this.

Big difference between 8-10 and 15-20. 5 with a second rounder back would be around 8-10 wouldn’t it?. Are priority should be keeping pick 5, I just feel like that’s very difficult.I'd say pick 8-10 is.

I hope we do something else with pick 5 just to take it off the table. The melts from GC's supporter would be pretty funny.
This is a huge coup. For all the criticism we have received about our recruitment over the last few years, if we are able to bring in Dawson and Rankine with a couple of mid range first rounders that is hugely impressive. It changes the standards and dynamic of the entire club.
All of a sudden, we have a very potent forward-line. There’s also no reason he can’t play that Shai Bolton role. It leaves us one or two key players (KPD and big bodied explosive mid… JHF?) short of a very good framework.
I'd almost refuse to give them our first when we only got pick 12 for a contracted charlie cameron.Big difference between 8-10 and 15-20. 5 with a second rounder back would be around 8-10 wouldn’t it?. Are priority should be keeping pick 5, I just feel like that’s very difficult.
Exactly, especially out of contract players.
Been mentioned but I'd be annoyed at Cochrane if I was a Suns supporter / list manager. I get why he said it but any risk of him deciding to stay went out the window last night. They have to trade him now.
Izak has had a better year than CC the year we traded. Has a higher ceiling imo too. I certainly wouldn’t be up in arms if we lost our first.I'd almost refuse to give them our first when we only got pick 12 for a contracted charlie cameron.
