we need WC to dig their heels in on junior rioli. wipes out a lot of the risk of an escort of rankine down the PSD path.... there maybe others walked to the PSD too...

When you are in a street-fight with a dangerous foe it pays to strike at their most vulnerable areas.

For Greater Western Sydney, so desperate to keep their No. 2 overall pick in Tim Taranto, a monster offer from a rival club was always likely to pry him loose.

But for the Giants especially, the long-term nature of the seven-year deal Richmond has offered was always their version of getting a low blow that ends the fight.

GWS knows it is already saddled with a bunch of long-term deals to Josh Kelly (2029), Stephen Coniglio (2026) and Lachie Whitfield (2027) so could never risk that type of tenure, even for a player that loves the club.

So the Tigers will get their man and that deal, revealed by the Sunday Herald Sun, will also ward off Collingwood’s strong interest.

Seems to me, the 7 year Contract for Taranto, who's had a "grumbly" back this year & forced him to miss games ......should raise more alarm bells, than a young & fit Rankine on a 5 year Contract for similar money

RICH seem to be getting plaudits for striking a low blow, to end the fight ? ......what's different to what we've done ?

this crap about pick 4. i just heard the soundbite. scoop de doo didnt say we need to find pick 4. if you listen he says a future first is the starting point and that was the reference to pick 4 from a previous trade not that we need to find pick 4 in this draft.

They are pushing this line that GWS are fixing their salary cap problem, so are happy to offload someone for any random pick.

"If they're paying him $850K" - Good thing we're not. It was REPORTED as $800k, and that has since been clarified as being an exaggeration.

"Adelaide have pick 4" - Swing and a miss again boyo. We have pick 5.

Does this guy actually research anything or does he just see "Crows" and get taken over with rage like a puny orange Hulk.

The time his article got taken down and the world turned on him is about as low a moment as an AFL Journo can have. And we as a collective sunk the boot in about as ravenously as a fanbase can.

There is gonna be more player movement than ever before this year, there is absolutely no point listening to journos this far out from trade week as they have absolutely **** all idea about what's about to go down.

Reckon they'll be a few multi club trades that will have players picks and futures flying everywhere

I remember a few years back people were saying how on earth were Essendon going to get Stringer, Saad and Devon Smith in with the draft hand they had..yet they did. You are right imo, there will be deals flying all over the place and lots of draft picks will move..its just the way the league is heading

Mmmm......would GWS accept that .....seems to me, they'd want just the one pick, probably 7-9 ....plus a 2nd round

GWS will still get a good pick as well for Hopper, Bruhn & Bobby Hill

They'll tell RICH to do the work to get the 7-9 pick ......RICH will tell GWS they can do it

If I was GWS, I'd be demanding 12 and their first next year. The guy is 24, B&F winner, former pick 2, offered a $5m contract by Richmond.

The price for a player doesn't come much bigger than that. He's worth a lot more than Rankine in a trade scenario.
