My bad, I didn't realise that rule had been removed. So we need two spots for Strachan and Butts as others have said. Murray, Keayes and Parnell can stay on.
I don't think the rule has been removed it's just that they've both maxxed out their 4 years, both drafted in 2018?

Don't forget, part of the reason Dawson and Rankine agreed to come to ADEL was because of Nicks

Dawson had a better year, than his last at SYD ......Soligo :whitecheck: ...Fogs :whitecheck: .....Thilthorpe :whitecheck: ....Hinge and Berry :whitecheck: .....all progressing nicely under Nicks

There's simply no evidence, what you're saying is true

2 can play the emoji game.

Matt Crouch on a wing ❌

Dawson at half back ❌

Doedee 1:1 defender ❌

Murphy and McHenry small forward for sweet FA goals ❌

Cook, Gollant, Worrel playing sanfl all year ❌

ROB plodding in AFL all year ❌

We need to be ruthless but unfortunately we’re not.

Being smart is different from being ruthless. If we go flat out and look to burn GC because we think we can it can hurt us long term, lets say Rachele chooses GC at the end of his contract and GC are at the position of picking first in the PS. Why would they even think about negotiating with us. Being ruthless has to be the most over rated term in trades.

So in a crucial year of our draft and youth-driven rebuild, we're going to bring in a small forward, a skinny defender and a second rounder.

We obviously highly rate our current list.
There is no top end mid available with pick 5, so we are bringing in a top end small fwd/mid.

We will bring in 2 second round players despite only having one second round pick.

We used picks from this year to bring in a top end wing/ half back and a solid mid last year.

What exactly were you hoping for?

(And don't say trading our future first from next year to draft a non-top end mid. That won't fix our "no top end mid" problem, which our first next year might)

ROB has been ROB the last few years ......no change

Cook, Gollant, and Worrell .....all good reasons to have played SANFL

Cook, working on competitveness .....Gollant, still needing to get stronger, particularly the hands ...too many balls hitting his hands and spilling out

Worrell, travelling OK .....but not belting the door down ....by his own admission, he's had a lot of improving to do on his first AFL game, last year

David King continuing with his old white man tells young indigenous kid what’s good for him routine on Fox Foott
Surprising he didn’t make it as a coach.

The contested marking of ROB from 2020 is very scarce these days, though

Wouldn't have a problem with it, but he's focusing on a single, lone player. Luke Jackson getting a million a year to go home in his 3rd year? No problem! Taranto and Hopper getting 7 year deals? Sweet as! Rankine getting a big deal and coming home? Oooh, that's trouble.

Has he said anything remotely similar about JHF? Because if he hasn’t that’s a bit of a red flag…

People can put up as much draft highlights as they like, his ‘talent’ and ‘potential’ before being drafted was excellent, but his time at GC has shown only glimpses of that talent, and it certainly hasn’t produced any consistent form.

If you’re coughing up Pick 5 you want it to be for someone who ticks all the boxes, and he doesn’t. Cerra for example went for Pick 6, is a bonafide midfield gun that got traded to Carlton off the back of a brilliant run of form and DID tick all the boxes. Rankine nowhere close.

A lot of people on this thread trying to polish an absolute turd of a trade.

Cerra, you’d take Cerra with pick 5?
The so called gun who had less clearances, less tackles, less contested possessions than Berry. More turnovers though. More uncontested possession.

This is the same Cerra who went missing in the big moments in the final 4 games and couldn’t get Carlton to finals, and had blues supporters asking if his name translated to turd? That guy

Interesting choice, not ticking all the boxes

Accept that .....but then, what is the advantage of delaying the trade ....serves no purpose, other than to "appear" to be negotiating hard ......we must have got a copy of the Dodoro trading manual ?

Maybe waiting to see if we create another list spot and what sort of picks we need
