Let's not downplay how great JHF is just because he is going to Port.

He is an elite mid

He isn't an elite mid yet. He may develop into one and he will need to be for what they are going to give up for him but no player is guaranteed to be a star. Let's see him produce it on the field consistently for a couple of years before calling him a star.

Plenty. Same with Rankine. If situations were reversed, you'd have the opposite view to what you're presently espousing. You're marginally better than Subaru, but it's a tight go.

Garbage. Has not shown anywhere near what a #1 pick should. You're going on potential, nothing else.

NM can do better than pick 2,27 on a contracted player of JHF quality. 2 high 1st + something minimum.
Normally you would trade pick 2 and 27 for pick 1 but it's an unique situation where the previous year's 1st pick want to be traded so you would ask for pick 2 and a future 1st rounder. Boyd went for pick 6 and Griffin in a similar situation which is equivalent to 2 top 5 picks.

Two mid firsts and drew/bonner? Deeelusional.

That’s the likely deal. No way will they be sending a top 10 player who will have no interest in going there. Regardless of what North want.

North can keep him - but who at the club actually wants him there now? He is extremely toxic for them

North will screw Port for everything they can but it won’t be a gun player. Bergman , Hayes the most likely

We offered North three first rounders for him last year.

Yeah ok not elite now. But back home in a club that cares about his well-being he will thrive.

North were a shitshow last year. Had no care for him beyond playing and training. The guy was able to get on a plane and fly back to Adelaide without them knowing.

And him not telling them.....

Incorrect, he is no Nick Dacios and shown "plenty". He hasn't shown anything in his 1st year, Port Power are just trading for a new draftee where he probably would have went pick 1 this year.

There's more to player judgement than stats sheets. It's basic football knowledge. JHF will be an elite whereas ? remain over Rankine's professionalism. And that's before we discuss that we have the absolute worst midfield in the comp. The standard excuse over Stengle was he'd not be anywhere near as good playing for us. And yet Rankine will? And let's face it, as it stands, he's not a midfielder and I doubt our coaching group have any thoughts that he'll break into our 'stacked' group anytime soon.

Was he ever really interested in playing for us? We seemed very desperate for a player that never seemed to want to play for us despite how much we wanted him. All I am saying is that it's not the end of the world we didn't get him. I would rather Elijah Holland's and believe he would be a better fit and will be a better player.

drake is one of those posters that spends almost all their time on bay13. He couldn't resist coming back to his club board to embarrass us in equal measures aa he does there. Just need his buddy Subaru to roll on in now.

Basic football knowledge show Nick Dacios will be an elite midfielder as he has shown it this year. Doing last year's draft again, Dacios would have went pick 1 which most projected him to do anyway. No doubt Rankine hasn't proven to be an elite small forward let alone can develop into an elite midfielder (a position he has played U18) which is why we shouldn't be overpaying for him especially when uncontracted.

Don’t know why people bring up his joy flight home as neglect by North. It’s an hour on a plane. Players aren’t monitored 24/7
I reckon I could go for a day trip to Melbourne and my Mrs. would have no freaking idea

It seems likely accurate.

But at the same time, Rooch said Dunkley had a locker with his name on it at Alberton 🤷‍♂️
Guess he has to be right sometime. Throw enough darts, one’s bound to stick eventually.

As much as I hate to say it, PA uses this period much better than the AFC and they always have something on the table to trade. They are also after Rioli and Ratugolea as well.

Crows out of race for Jason Horne-Francis as more details on trade request emerge: AFL trade news

But while Port Adelaide sits in the front seat for Horne-Francis' services, it seems Adelaide aren't seen as a chance to acquire the top-rated midfielder, who will either land a trade to the Power or see out the final year of his contract with the Kangaroos.

Port Adelaide great Kane Cornes has revealed that Horne-Francis has already met with Port Adelaide key figures Ken Hinkley and Chris Davies, who have been left impressed by the youngster's "character".

“He's not interested in going to Adelaide,” Cornes told AFL Trade Radio on Monday.

“Chris Davies, Ken Hinkley, Jason Horne-Francis and his manager Ben Williams met in person last week. Port Adelaide were really impressed by him and his character, albeit understanding he had some challenges last year.

The article lost some creditability for me when Kane Cornes said

He is a quality media performed good old Kano
