He actually hasn't said port publicly but hey, if it is you guys have fun selling the farm. 2 first rounders and a quality player like butters.

Kane Cornes has apparently come out this morning and said that JHF met with Ken Hinkley and Chris Davies late last week, has committed to Port and has no interest in going to Adelaide.

Sounds like we have/had as much hope as what Port did with Rankine.

Not sure JHF will immediate push them back to premiership contenders, ironically Dunkley would have done this more than JHF, so unfortunately Hinkley will still be sacked next year.
They will struggle to make the 8. Horne will cover losing Amon, Boak and Dixon are a year older and declining, they are a good chance to lose Georgiadis to a WA club this year or next along with likely needing to give up a player such as Butters to get the Horne deal done. if it's just picks then it's going to take 2 firsts this year and their 2023 first for North to consider the trade. Their list is fairly average if you go through it.

I didn’t think opposition teams were able to meet with contracted players?

The problem with suggesting players in any trade to Norf is the Clarko situation.

Why would any player, Port or Crows, agree to go to North before that is resolved.

I’m uncertain now if Clarkson is an attraction or a deterrent.

One thing is clear, we cannot give up anywhere near for Rankine what Port give up for JHF, pick 1 and contracted.
The powaa are taking a big risk on Horne with what they will have to give up. He also has attitude problems and there's no guarantee he will pull his head in at port. We on the other hand have the PSD worse case scenario.

When has that ever been the case?

Graham is under contract and was here last week touring Port's facilities.

From what I'm aware you're just not able to sign a contract or agreement while you're
contracted, but that's it.

Can someone please explain to me why JHF (still not proven, possible problems with attitude) is worth A LOT more than some other top 5 draft pick - like basically double? I get that’s what you might HAVE to pay, but for the life of me I can’t understand why any sensible list manager would do it.

Do you really have a better chance of getting an absolute Brownlow-level player out of JHF than out of TWO very high draft picks? Or, look at it another way - are you better off with one JHF on the field than with two high picks on the field? Is he really that obviously and stratospherically better a prospect?

I hope as a club we weren't completely blindsided as he exactly what we need elite powerful and pacey. We have needed this for more than 5+ plus years. We need to be talking to his manager clearly Port got in 1st and as we are so heavily into Rankine it makes it harder to be able to offer Norf something that is acceptable. But please AFC leave no stone unturned in trying.

Hahaha...it looks like he has wanted to be back in Adelaide all along. He will be in his comfort zone here and he will be an absolute star for them. No sugar coating it but it doesn't matter if it costs big, he will be worth it in every way to them
