This board would do that in a heart beat if he was coming to the Crows. Most of this thread would offer better picks and any young gun they want!

I think he was always going to pick the Power when he decided to move back to SA.

Going to be fun to see how the Victorian media handle it. Contracted #1 pick leaving for SA … lol, they’ll burst a vein!

Very good player in the making there, excellent get by Power if it gets done this year.
Well put me on record as not one of those that would not do it in a heart beat for that kind of collateral. I'd struggle big time even coughing up our 1st this year and a quality player.

Crows out of race for Jason Horne-Francis as more details on trade request emerge: AFL trade news

But while Port Adelaide sits in the front seat for Horne-Francis' services, it seems Adelaide aren't seen as a chance to acquire the top-rated midfielder, who will either land a trade to the Power or see out the final year of his contract with the Kangaroos.

Port Adelaide great Kane Cornes has revealed that Horne-Francis has already met with Port Adelaide key figures Ken Hinkley and Chris Davies, who have been left impressed by the youngster's "character".

“He's not interested in going to Adelaide,” Cornes told AFL Trade Radio on Monday.

“Chris Davies, Ken Hinkley, Jason Horne-Francis and his manager Ben Williams met in person last week. Port Adelaide were really impressed by him and his character, albeit understanding he had some challenges last year.

The article lost some creditability for me when Kane Cornes said

He is a quality media performed good old Kano
LOL at the double quotes around character and Port Power mentioning his character from that meeting. PR already spinning (definite red flag).

drake is one of those posters that spends almost all their time on bay13. He couldn't resist coming back to his club board to embarrass us in equal measures aa he does there. Just need his buddy Subaru to roll on in now.

Wow you're not taking the news well are you? JHF is not an elite mid yet. Whether you want to accept that is up to you. But yes Bay 13, suburu etc etc.

Let it go. It is good in general top talent wants to return to SA. He even nominated a club which doubly screws the current team. F**k the Victorian clubs. They give us nothing so, even that it is Port it’s still a reminder to be doubly sure when drafting elite SA boys. Helps them slide a rung or two maybe which helps our draft hand. Now we go and get M Phillipou.

A lot of silly posts on hear formulated in a hatred for Port haze. Let's look at this with a more balanced viewpoint.

JHF was a pick 1 but has had a horror year failing to live up to that billing (strategically Norf should have bid on Daicos and Darcy before JHF) he has not endeared himself to Norf with his behaviour and attitude. He was the first player to leave their B&F and it was early, thinking here he may not be the most popular bloke at the club

Clarkson's mess won't be cleared up for some time (one side here is lying, how do you prove that to a satisfactory level?) so Norf highly likely to have an interim coach.

No player of any worth will agree to be traded to Norf.

Norf may well think, do we want another year of JHF's antics, which may well be worse once we fail to trade him to Port, or do we just wipe the slate and get pick 8 this year, which will be nicely placed for the KP player we need, plus a 2023 first in a strong draft.

At the end of next year JHF will be OOC so less leverage and he won't be staying in 2024. I'm thinking Norf will take the picks and run, just for the clear air.

So assuming we are stockpiling a ’warchest’ that was going to be used to make a play for him….
What now? Who do we target?
Phillipou after he has a great 1st season for whoever is lucky enough to draft him? ;)

Hinkley and Davies impressed by his character…………… yep good fit
Yep that's great character leaving a club a year into a two year contract. Was Horne impressed by Davies and Hinkley's character? Kenny must have shown him his coke can collectables.

Did our list manager have any mail or inkling on JHF meeting Kenny & Co last week or are we completely blindsided.

Port did this one on the quite out of the media unlike Graham and Dunkley which is the better way to go.

Kane Cornes has apparently come out this morning and said that JHF met with Ken Hinkley and Chris Davies late last week, has committed to Port and has no interest in going to Adelaide.

Sounds like we have/had as much hope as what Port did with Rankine.

Setting aside the Kane Cornes factor, this appears to be news to North

No doubt Port will get first chance to strike a deal, which is fair enough. Hopefully we’re right there on the shoulder, keeping the pressure up and reminding North that we’re open for business

Korn is just playing tit for tat. He remembers the reports that Rankine said, don’t even bother talking to me, in regards to Port.

Or maybe Cornes information is correct and JHF only wanted to play for them so his manager didn't even tell us?
