Player Watch Jason Horne-Francis - Part 2

Nah he's a very good forward, our forward line functions better with him as a focal point.

Could have ended up with 4 goals (handball to Berry, uncalled head high FK, had a mark and instead of taking a set shot, stuffed up the immediate kick to DBJ)

What did he do yesterday? Looked like he shoved the player on the ground and it slipped past his body and got him high, hopefully nothing to worry about.

Not super impressed with the Hornet's attitude in the first two games.

He did some very good things but that fiery temperament seems to be flowing into negative aspects of his game.

I'm sure he'll pull his head in and get going but you can't be taking your frustrations out on opposition players by doing dumb things.

I actually thought he was pretty good on the weekend, was involved in so many of our scores and could easily have kicked 3 or 4 if he chose to be selfish. Realistically, he's not going to be racking up 30 touches a week if he's playing half his time as a forward. Still averaging 21 and a goal across the first two weeks which are good numbers for the role he's playing.

delusional if u think he played well.

Rozee or even butters has the game jhf did and i think u would critique them.

Especially with Butters out. I expected him to be absolutely at his best in rounds 1 and 2.

I only saw 3 quarters but JHF was quite poor. Multiple times he overran the ball, handballed to ground, gave away soft free kicks etc. He was always going to get on the end of a few playing in the forward line against that Richmond team but he was well below the lofty benchmarks he has set for himself.

I like all of JHF, Butters, and Rozee. JHF prob just edges out Butters for my favourite. But it’s very clear that JHF doesn’t get critiqued as harshly as the other two, especially Rozee.

Calling a spade a spade it was a poor game from JHF, littered with mistakes and poor discipline. Giving Berry his first goal showed leadership but the rest was a bit disappointing.

The Vic mafia are extremely harsh and unfair on JHF.

Definitely.

He hasn't been poor but its time for the rocket to take off and it hasn't.

He gave a beautifully weighted kick to IIRC Rozee or Georgiades IIRC in the third from a centre square clearance. I think it was the one where Wines nabbed it in the ruck.

Unpopular opinion, but I think JHF is significantly over rated at the moment, but still capable of becoming what everyone thinks he is and/or wants him to be.

He's still only what a 4th year player now? I mean his best footy won't come for another year or so, but it'd be nice if he could start consistently producing it now.

I feel like that’s settled down and he gets the kudos he deserves from across the border now.

But internally we let him off the hook a bit, the ill discipline annoys me a bit. He needs to stop giving away frees and fifties, love his passion but he needs to be smarter with how he uses that on the field.
