Are GWS looking to use picks 3, 12, 15, 18 and 19 purely for the draft? Or do they want to get some players in via trade?

Maybe we could upgrade pick 33 or 43 for one those later picks and offer up Byrne-Jones or Bonner?

We genuinely need to trade away a player for 2nd round. Can't see it happening another way.

Hayes, Drew, Bonner, DBJ, Farrell. DBJ with most value in that lot perhaps as an All-Australian and club BnF although he was off it best this year. I know he just resigned but yeah either him or Drew

In all seriousness North have actually done fine out of this deal. So have West Coast. GWS showed up, bent over and handed over the lube to make it work for everyone else, and I salute them for it.
Yeah I think north have done well. What more can you hope for to get for a player that wants out than a similar pick + a future 1st on top. That’s a good deal.

Also west coast, despite people knocking them to get out of pick 2 and the private school vic boys and into hewett territory , whose not far behind, if at all those vic boys plus get another pick. That’s good for them.

Ports given up a lot, but the fact we get future 2nds and 3rds back helps a lot,

In the end rozee butters jhf Bergman sinn to look forward too in our midfield.

I really rate that group of players as a future midfield. High end young talent there.

I fully expect JHF to stay at North Melbourne, but in the interest of fun i would imagine this could be a potential starting point for the Crows and Power in terms of a trade:

Adelaide offer:
Riley Thilthorpe, 2 x first round picks

Port Adelaide offer
Zak Butters, 2 x first round picks and a second round pick
Jesus christ.

Like 2 1st rounders for Shiel or 3 for Cameron? Both nominated a team.
He said butters, 2 1sts and a second

So basically what was paid for both Cameron and Shiel together, especially when you consider 2nd round picks went back in those deals (the second round pick was basically not far behind the supposed 3rd 1st round pick in the Cameron deal that was actually pick 20).

It was a dumb statement and it’s laughable you would try to defend it.

I didn’t defend the trade and know it was a crazy proposal. But on the same hand if he goes - he wont go cheaply.

OR. In real world AFL he gets to where he wants.

Like Tom Papley did?

In no media reports has it said JH-F is unhappy at North and wants out.

Its par of the course now for clubs and managers to defer talks about contracts and contract extensions until well into the 2nd half of the season.

Apparently David King ran Edmunds over the coal on SEN a week or so ago because the decision to talk contracts after the first season was made before this season started. It's really just cheeky journalism.

Used to really rate Edmunds, but last couple of years he become nothing more than a Sam McClure type clickbait sensationalist rumour monger.

North fans have nothing to worry about, we (Carlton) were also the victim of such sensationalist media crap when we were down the ladder.

JH-F strikes me as the type of Alpha Dawg who wants to make North Great again.

His reaction to Jack's sledge a few weeks ago is a sign of a bloke who loves the NMFC and is there for the long haul.

It would be great for posters to respond with their thoughts on what a potential trade would be, instead of just potting my post.

Tim Kelly nominated a club and went for three first round picks
Jeremy Cameron nominated a club and went for two first round picks and then some
Dylan Shiel nominated a club and went for two first round picks
Dayne Beams nominated a club and went for a first and second round pick, and then nominated the reverse club and went for two first round picks.

My hypotheticals are on the money. Richmond offered two first round picks + CCJ for him before he played a game. His stock has only risen.

Its all ridiculous anyway because he will remain at North, no doubt about it.

If Dylan Shiel is worth 2 first round picks, JHF is worth 4...

Ok. IF a deal was an option at the end of this year, the crows put up their 1st this year and next. So a likely top 4 pick this year and the same next year (or top 6 at worst) - with nothing else involved coming back etc

Funny if after all those years trawling for big fish from other Clubs, they lose the first A+ Grader they have drafted in over a decade.

If he stays, he will want compensation for playing with a problematic team... prolly after well over $1.0m pa plus bonuses

Kelly was 2 firsts 15-20 and 2 2nds 20-35 with 2 r3s going back.
Cameron was 3 1sts 15-25 with 2 2nds 30-35 going back.

Your offers from what i read were expecting much more than that
