Welcome Kyle Hartigan joins the Hawks in a trade from the Crows

To be fair, once Corr chose North over us, what option did we have?

If we're arguing over Corr or Hartigan it shows the current situation we're in, It's like North and Hawthorn are a couple of seagulls fighting over the last few chips on Seaford Foreshore.

oh cr@p, same scenario we had with Stratton and Frawley.
Will still be hand over eyes stuff for Hawks supporters when the ball is in our defenders hands.
It’s his decision making more than his actual kicking. He’s got a good kick. Just panics sometimes and turns it over.

I am tempted to go back to the Welcome to Sam Frost thread.... and see what we said there.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I thought he was a bit of a bright spot in an otherwise gloomy year.

At least he has a red-hot crack.

Lack of effort this year is my biggest beef.... not lack of skill.

I’ll admit was thinking the same thing. I don’t really recall people’s reactions but based on the brain melts today when we haven’t given anything up to get Hartigan I’m assuming everyone hateD giving up what we did to get Frost.

I agree with you, he competed all year and considering how often the pill was going into our D50 was far from our worst

Frosty was definitely a bright spot. I've always been of the opinion that when a teams on the re-build good honest hard-working footballers like ya Frostys, or Dan howes, blokes that don't take a backwards step are of the utmost importance. They set a certain standard that is required to win flags. If KH is of that mould then good luck to him.

FWIW: Your avatar name is the coolest ever !

Like who?

Prize someone away from their current club. we've got plenty of cap space to get into players ears.

We did need someone, but this sort of addition is just uninspiring and shows where we're at as a club. Stop gap better than nothing I suppose though.

Someome please tell me this isn't a 3 year deal ?

You'd want to hope not, I can accept it as a stop gap because we need another defender on the list, but if we've offered Hartigan a 3 year deal it's pretty sad and shows a clear lack of forward thinking.

Exactly its a stop gap... any more of those on the market that are free?

Or would you prefer we trade our picks away for a KPD?

Ideally we wouldn’t need both Hartigan and Hartley on our list. But our list is in bad shape and we don’t have currency to trade for someone better nor can we rely on kosi (shown f all in 2 years). Hopefully we draft 1-2 talls that can develop while Hartigan etc fills the gap for 2-3 years.
But going into the season with key backs of frost, Hartley and Kosi is a recipe for diaster.

Not a bad pick up there for you guys

I randomly ended up watching quite a few Crows games toward the end of the year and he looked to be going a fair bit better than Talia to my eye

Think he was just a guy who had a few poor high profile games early on and that mud kinda got stuck to him

Hope we still go after Tom McDonald. I’d be comfortable with those 2 as our KPB with frost taking Stratton role Hardwick scrimshaw and greaves

We've got Frost BB Hartley and Kosi prior to this move as our four KPD and Kosi isn't even signed yet
So we had Frost and Hartley and BB are our choices for FB and CHB and possibly a 20 year old zero game player

In 12 months time Sicily will be coming back from his knee, BB will most likely be retiring so picking up a bloke for 2 years (three hasn't been confirmed) who can play full back is not a bad list decision

We've got plenty of holes we need to fill, we can't be throwing picks or players away on all of them.

We've got to take what we can, tick the box and move on to the next need

Our recruiting reminds me of the late 90's when we used to recruit guys like Sharkey, Danilchenko & Jonny Hassal...
Haha had forgotten about danilchenko. Classic.
