This season is still a massive success. They were better. It's hard because I know we could've played better.
Good post.

We definitely could have played better. I suppose some of that comes to the opposition. I felt we were a bit unlucky in that third but that could me being biased.

not angry. Just disappointed for the boys as had a chance to pinch it. Knowing that it is probably harder next year until the young ones get a few more years

Look we lost to the best team. Only reason they don’t win next week is from the ruck (although they looked better with Joe out of forward line)

I know we are all emotional but to say we didn’t want it or we are terrible is not right. Just beaten by a team that should win the flag.

Disappointed as we would have beaten sydney.

Losing Holmes in second half was massive for us and J Henry also hindered. Duncan wrong call as sub as two clangers cost goals at end. But hard to get pace of it

Lost by 2 goals (would have been 1 if Stanley wasn’t so rushed).

We missed a few we should have kicked but so did they

Showing the highlights now at the end it is a smoother or great play by them that we must recognise that took the game away from us

I suspect next year we might cut a little deeper than expected as no point in my mind having Stanley (tried hard) Duncan Rohan etc go around again

I am actually amazed at what we achieved this year. It was ours to pinch tonight but couldn’t do it. Very proud of the season

J. Henry seemed to be getting his foot checked in the last quarter - not ideal with his history

Stanley could barely stand after his shot on goal - looked like he couldn't put any pressure through the right knee/leg

I know there's been some talk of a few veterans going around again next year, but wonder if there'll be some tough discussions after tonight - watching Stanley at the end, I'm unsure if he would be able to back up next week let alone next year

As they say a game is made up of special moments.
Unfortunately the Lions had a few more than we did.
They played a ripping game especially Cam Raynor… big time at the right time.
A few errors were costly but we had our chances.
Lost the run of Holmes which proved crucial in the end IMO.

I think it showed that we had 1 game in 20 so days. Scrappy.

Stanley didn’t step up when McInerney went off.

Mitch Duncan has slowed this year and in a high pressure final was found out.

Oisin Played ok. Stick with him.

Simple Dropped marks by Neale and Dempsey shows the young nerves.

Jack Henry and Z Guthrie played well.

Too many fumbles cost us in the end.

Good luck next week lions.

It seems to make you happy for some reason that is really foreign to me. I suppose I have to accept that people are different.

What consoles me is that you being “right” makes no difference to Tanners life. He will be wildly successful in life. (At a guess multiples more than you. Just a wild guess).

A very good kid with talent I would dream of having. Will play 250 games and the fact that you will come on this forum every bad one won’t change a thing
He was still beyond terrible

Yup, said it mid way through the year. Pisses me off that we won't win a flag because our midfield is too shite.
We had to turn over the names in the midfield eventually. I'm astonished we got to a prelim and kept it that close.

I thought we'd sneak into the 8 and get smashed in the elimination

Our midfield ultimately lost it. We were already at max capacity and when Max, our most important and best midfielder went off, the tide completely turned. If only he held up and we win this easily.

Tanner Bruhn simply does not get enough of the ball.

Mitch Duncan was badly exposed and cost two late goals. Champion of the club but needs to be told no more.

Our small forwards bar Stengle were good and backs were serviceable. Stanley battled hard. Mullin shows promise and was solid.

Disappointing end to our season but a lot to be proud of the year. I like how the team stayed and huddled in the middle before leaving the ground. Hopefully the pain sets in and they use this for
Motivation next year.

Great points here, especially on Mullin. He had some absolutely scintillating kicks and moves. Well worth persisting with,
