Hi everyone.
Interesting to hear what you expect to get out of this. From our side we have quality in LDU and Wardlaw in the middle, and bits and pieces around the ground but very little experience and a totally disrupted backline. We have been practicising a run-and-gun style which might look good here and there, but could fall apart under pressure and will almost certainly present opportunities for you to open us up on the turnover/rebound many times. We've added a lot of running power, in Stephens, McKercher and expecting significant improvement from Lazarro, Powell and maybe Philips, plus Sheezel and Shiels from last year so we would hope to run out the game better than we have in the past.
Our talls are a worry, with a couple of bandaids at the back end and not much faith that CCJ can do more than get in Larkey's way at the front. Our more exciting young mid-forwards like Ford and George will be missing and Curtis is coming from a layoff so a lot will be left to a slimmed-down Zurhaar.
A win for us would be to put together a few exciting end to end passages, some highlights from the young guns, not get bogged down in the back half and limit the scoreboard damage from the inevitable.
We will play a lot of young players across the board. We are resting 10 premiership players. I expect a loss to be honest.

Dont tell the AFL that lol
The AFL are in the clear on this because it’s club sanctioned. If the break was a factor the clubs as the organisers would have brought it forward a day or two in line with the Melbourne v Richmond hit out.

He's a solid player and ridiculously versatile. However, we are getting old and do need to start pushing through a youngster or two. Unless we get injuries - we will have to push out a player or two - unless our young guys on the fringe are no good.
Agree with this, however I don’t think it’s the WHE role that you will replace with a youngster. Not saying he can’t be replaced personally, he’s not. pendlebury. The role he plays can’t be fulfilled with any of our youngsters. Youngsters should get plenty of opportunities over the season. I think it will come on account of injury, and at the expense of other players…Noble, we go with one ruck at times…players out of form, ceteris Paribas definitely not WHE.

Personally I think the worst thing you can do to a young side is play non accountable football. Would be surprised if Clarkson didn’t emphasise the Defence fundamentals.

We want to get some exposure in to our next crop of players. We’ll want to defend well, apply pressure in your 50 and connect well with our forwards. This is all obvious.

Game Day!!!.....Just excited to see us against opposition today. Particularly looking forward to watching how our depth players go, with 9 premiership players not "risked" today.
Want to see Macrae, McInnes, Allan, Harrison, Dean, Richards, Jiath, Sullivan and Bytel against an opposition team today and see how they perform. Also want to get a glimpse of McCreery in the midfield alongside DeGoey. That just sounds exciting and of course Schultz in that F50!!!
Beautiful weather for a game of footy too, and lucky it's at 10am, considering the temp of 33 today...

North’s midfield looks close to full strength
Ours is missing a lot Will rely on JDG and Finlay to do a lot of heavy lifting
Josh D on a wing and the rest of midfield minutes to be filled by flankers and kids. Lipinski McCreery Bytel Harrison Sullivan Carmichael and Allan

Our defence looks strong enough

Forward line will have Kreuger McInnes and AJ surrounded by Hill and Schulz so is ok if the midfield can give enough supply

I can't see a stream displayed yet. In the past, there were always holes to be exploited.
Not with Fox and Kayo products. It’s a big no no on BigFooty. I’m finding the interest in the outcome of today’s training session hilarious.

(1) A bunch of mature heads learning to play footy with their senior team-mates (Shultz, Bytel, Sullivan, Dean)

(2) A bunch of young players with little / no Senior experience looking to make an impact (Allan, Macrae, Ryan, Carmichael)

(3) A young newbie (Jiath)

(4) Next Gen leadership (IQ - presuming he’ll be acting captain?)
