I'm disappointed in Rucci. Yesterday arvo I wrote

Listening to Rucci bang on about Georgiades for 10 minutes having to go to WCE to get JHF over the line, I have come to the conclusion

1. He has no idea, or
2. Cripps has asked him to run interference, or more likely
3. He has drafted up an article, that basically says look how great Port's trading is, they got a pick 1 player in JHF out of North and didn't give up a player. No one else in the history of the game has done a deal like this, type of article for the Port website.

I later said I expect an article saying how brilliant we were in not giving up Georgiades to get WCE to budge, by 11am tomorrow at the latest, either on the club's website or Indaily.

I looked at the club website at 11am and nothing there. Looked at Indaily at 12noon and nothing there. Waited to get the email from Indaily, Big Footy kept crashing, still is, email came in at 12.37 and nothing there. Was about to start this post and said I better look at the club's website one last time and indeed Rucci has written an article and it was time stamped Just Now.

He had prepared an article long before the deal was approved - but its about our past trading success and only a cursory nod to the mega deal getting achieved. Shit he wasn't being his usual Machiavellian self, he really has no idea how trades work.

It's been an unbroken line of mis-steps since then.

I remember seeing a Guernsey with those colours and in a picture frame at Adelaide Oval last year in the upper level of the Riverbank Stand. On the picture frame were the words adelaide football club

In late 1990 a new team was admitted into the AFL – the Adelaide Football Club. It had no logo, colours or jumper. One of the first priorities of the interim board was to decide on these.
Many suggestions and designs were put forward. One of these was a blue, green and white jumper with an esoteric design representing South Australia’s coastline separating the land and the sea. About to try to bring together a disparate group of players from various clubs and states, it was clear that not only the design didn’t give an impression of strength but it would not work as a rallying object as in “do it for the jumper!”

So the decision was made to pilfer the heritage and history of South Australia and claim the state colours for their own.
