As recently as twenty odd years ago those who protested against Gulf War 2 were condemned from pillar to post, now you have a hard time pinning down anyone who will claim to have thought it a good idea outside of those whose historical legacy is tied to it.

Yep in my coming of age people were spitting venom at those speaking out against the war. “You commie traitors are going to let Saddam give his nukes to Osama!” even though Saddam didn’t have WMDs and no links to Al Qaida.

Not a single apology when the hippie peace activists were proven to be correct over the former generals and Middle East “experts” claiming war was necessary.

I spent most of my 20s being pretty cruisey about politics, that fired me back up again.

Secondly if the military industrial complex thinks it’s going to get support for its cause by provoking and propping up wars that have killed, maimed, displaced and starved millions all over the world it would be the opposite.

A bag of poo being thrown is about 1,000,000 times less harmful than the bombs, gas, bullets, shells, diseases, torture and abject horror the MIC has unleashed on the world in the last 12 months alone.
And despite this fact the flog protestors are less popular than the weapons manufacturers. That has to sting...

Was there a study of public opinion toward the groups?

I remember the Iraq era anti war protesters being shat on and called traitors. My parents told me the Vietnam era anti war protesters endured the same. Both groups were proven to be ultimately right, and the bootlickers exposed for who they truly are.

Abuse of pepper spray and other police weapons against people on the ground.

"Speaking to activists who attended Disrupt Land Forces and experienced cop violence worse than we've seen before. Again."

"Acid" thrown at police being butyric acid. Basically unpleasant old cheese smell. The same stuff they put in Hershey's chocolate.

Vietnam protesters were right, they were less popular.
Iraq war protesters were right, they were less popular.
Genocide protesters are on the same side as the Pope and the Archbishop of Canterbury, but are less popular. They're clearly on the right side of history. But those who don't support them will pretend they were just apathetic and didn't really care. Which is exactly what my anti-holocaust education lessons were about (at least I thought so).

Vietnam protesters were right, they were less popular.

If you watch popular TV and movies about the Vietnam era which were all written by those who were the uni students and protesters at the time you’d think the anti war protesters were liked, were popular and the majority.

Couldn’t be further from the truth. Doing some research on how the mainstream media and government labelled them at the time reveals they were called “traitors” “communists” “cowards” etc. All protesters were dismissed pretty much as they Gaza protesters are dismissed today.

Australia is supplying parts used in fighter planes and the whole "non lethal items things" yeah that doesn't sound suspect

anyone suggesting we're not helping Israel in their ongoing genocide is either ignorant or lying

That is kind of like how Peter Dutton does not own any property because it is all hidden in trusts.

There may not be direct sales but that does not mean Australian weapons are not finding their way to Israel.
