Agree - lions supporters should hold their heads up. Gracious in defeat and have far more awareness of the fine margins that game was played at. There were controversial decisions and non-decisions that went both ways across the day. Spoke to lots of lions fans out in Fitzroy/Collingwood after the game and they were all very appreciative of the spectacle and had a much better grasp of where the game was won and lost than many neutrals on this forum. Much respect.

We ought to have beaten them in the worst-umpired QF ever. You’ve really gotta wonder what’s wrong with people, we’ve basically been the best team over two years, then beat Melbourne (who apparently were best placed), then beat GWS (who apparently were playing the best footy in the AFL, in fact I think I heard they play Collingwood football better than Collingwood!, then beat Brisbane (who apparently we wouldn’t be able to stop scoring) while we lost Adams, McStay before the game and then Murphy in the first quarter who are easily 3 of our starting 18 and still won.
You’d think at some point you’d just tip your cap. But whatever we got what we deserved and suck it you non 2023 premiership winners and I look forward to going back to back next year.

I’ve found that most Lions fans have begrudgingly admitted that they were probably lucky to even get so close at all. Freakish accuracy on their part and inaccuracy from our boys is was made this a close game, and for some reason it’s only the “neutrals” who can’t see that.

The port board is always an entertaining read, I’d say their salt ratio is 10% at us and 90% at Ken , my favourite post was something along the lines of frampton 1 premiership, Ken donuts.
Have they forgotten that we were unlucky not to beat Geelong last year in the finals (due to the umpires)with a team that wasn’t as talented as the side we had this year?
