NZ no doubt have their backs to the wall but i reckon they're a chance to defend anything above 150, so still a lot to play out here

Didn't see Ravindra's wicket live, but having seen it...

He wanted to get that ball through genuine midwicket, and the ball did a little bit too much. That's not a shot he'd want to shelve, it's a genuine half chance that went England's way the way it does for a team on top; if NZ are 100+ runs ahead of the game, that goes through genuine midwicket or he gets a little more of it and it sails over square leg's head.

And while some are capable of putting shots away mid innings, those players have always been in the genuine upper echelon. Calling the shot 'lazy' or out of the blue is bad analysis.

F**k off England

See I could handle this, the Poms being kissed on the dick throughout this test, occasionally through luck, a lot through NZ’s catching ineptitude. It happens.

But they won’t come out afterwards and actually say ‘look we know that we had a few things go our way this game and we need to work on some things, it won’t always work out that way.’

Going to take something special for NZ to get back into this game

I know it will look terrible if it doesn’t come off but the only way they are going to win - and they obviously can’t draw - is for Phillips to tee off as far as I can see. Get to stumps, just plan around Phillips going on the offensive and Smith and Nicholls giving as much support as they can. Then Southee if it comes to it probably taking the long handle as well

Well at least we survived until stumps and have a lead of 4 runs now.

With Mitchell still there and some handy tailenders like Smith, Henry and Southee still left we could increase that lead to over 100.

Then it will be game on.
