NZ have the 2nd worse catching rate of the test playing nations in 2024. Suprising given they are one of the better fielding sides I thought in the world.

From Cricbuzz at Stumps on Day 2 :

New Zealand catching in Tests in 2024
Catches taken: 109
Dropped: 35
Their catch success rate of 75.7% is the second-lowest in Tests this year, only ahead of West Indies’ 73.07%

FMD 🤦‍♂️

And our catching has actually probably gotten BETTER - but we were f**king abysmal against Bangladesh.

Shamar Joseph had 4 catches dropped in the space of about 6 overs the other morning

Geez the Kiwi's are crap at catching....Brooks getting 4 lives....talk about gifting the guy a 100....pretty sure Labs started his career like that, and now it's all 'catching' up with him.

Our fielding standards have dropped in recent years and all those drops today could cost us this test with England looking likely to get a first innings lead now and it could be a big lead if Brook and Stokes tee off tomorrow.

This is closer to the Matthew Hayden maiden century at Adelaide
Hayden remembers that one wrong - in a wisden piece I’m embarrassed to share he reckons he played it against “a good attack as well – Ambrose, Walsh, Bishop”, when Ambrose was a late withdrawal and WI replaced him and one of the Benjamins with Cameron Cuffy and the laughable PIC-line Thompson.

It took something truly amazing from Carl Hooper to get him out then.

He’s a f**king d**khead. He got dropped about 6 times and was dismissed off a no ball

Always found this interesting. In 2075 Tests over 136 years, there was only one innings of 171 in a Test match. In the 488 since there have been seven.
