For a guy so gifted when he came into international cricket, he is just abysmal these days. As for his ‘Victorianness’ well I’m not sure how that happened and what they actually did to put this side together but I dare say you’d probably put together a better team from Victoria, Canada than the side he’s leading.

He has been poor this test but he made two very crucial scores - 91 in the first test and 76 in the second - in India and a 60-odd in the test before that against Sri Lanka.
A lot more being made of his form than there should be.
