Australia had Dennis Lillee (Legend) & Dennis Lillie (the leggie from QLD) playing at the same time back in the day.

From Wiki:
‘The two similarly, but not exactly, named players never appeared together in the starting lineups of the same game, however Lillie was twelfth man in a Queensland v Western AustraliaSheffield Shield game during the 1980–81 season, and in fact caught Lillee in the first innings of that game. The following line appears from that scorecard: DK Lillee c sub (DJ Lillie) b GS Chappell 11’
this is very, very good! He'd be a good guest on the Front Bar. Could also make a fortune scamming people as a guest speaker at corporate events. Imagine people's disappointment when the QLD leggie, DJ Lillie comes out to talk

You think so? They won the toss and bowled. They did well to come back but they would have been hoping to be batting by now with less than 300 on the board

Very much so take getting a side out for 350, it looks a belter.

Sounds like the Late Show missed an opportunity.

Still one of my all time favourite pieces of Australian TV:

When I played rugby for a team in England they sold tickets to an end of season dinner with Zinzan Brooke as the guest speaker.

He was a late out and he got replaced with Huw Davies who was the England back up fly half to Rob Andrew back in the 1980s.

We felt ripped off but he was a great after dinner speaker and took the piss out of himself for not being as good as Rob Andrew.

I wouldn't say it was a belter of a batting pitch at this stage, there is still plenty in it for the bowlers if we can bowl well tomorrow.

In fairness they only passed 259 once in 5 completed innings in India

It was mostly our bowlers that won the test series in India, our batsmen weren't great, they were just better than India's batsmen

Ha, was it Mick Molloy who kept stuffing up the guests? ie Joan Kirner instead of Joan Jett, Rex Hunt v T Rex and, David Boon instead of David Byrne. Very funny way to end the show

Granted you're still correct re. what they were hoping for but at the same time in New Zealand you're not really bowling first so you can bowl first you're really doing it so you can bat last. Pitches get better and better for batting as the matches go on over there.

That’s fair, and it will get flat I have no doubt about that
