Newman axed amongst other list changes

Newman/Tunbridge delisted. Waterman/Colledge also delisted but committing to resigning them as rookies less they are poached.

Ginners (sigh) and Lucas get new 1 year deals.

So what was the point sticking by Newman throughout his jail tenure, just to delist him 12 months later? Did the club expect him to come back after a year out of the game and blitz the competition? Would much rather keep Newman and chop McGinnity.

Holy fukballs... Just when I thought we were cruising this trade/delist/draft period we cop this and an average draw in the same week. I'm gonna go all ep2006 on all of you if Waterman is poached. Newman also has a lot of promise. (yeh I know, we're still saying that)

Waterman is no talent, I don't understand the interest on this board for him. Colledge is a list clogger and I'd rather keep Lucas on the list anyway, don't see either of them ever getting a regular game though.

Newman is obviously short of character and probably talent as well, was picked too high in the end.

Tunbridge just hasn't shown anything.....and we don't have a need for him. Maybe somebody else will pick him up.

McGinnity can play a role and gets the most out of whatever talent he has. While surprising, I like the changes... no point clogging up our list with spuds. And someone sharking Waterman? Give me a spell. If another AFL club picks him up i'll do something drastic.

McGinnity cant play any role thats his problem. He is a nothing player.

Bit unfair on Waterman. From what I've seen of him in WAFL he has talent. Maybe not A grade talent but definitely something worth working with. Especially after 1 year. Must be a decision based off his illness.

Waterman was a first year player suffering glandular fever, it was always going to be a tough year, and why bother sticking with Newman when he went to prison just to delist him after 1 season back in the system, like the guy above said, did they really expect him to come straight out of jail and cement a best 22 spot? In the 2 games he subbed I think he definitely showed some promise, definitely would have been worth sticking by him for another year.

Maybe they think he will never get to the level of fitness required. He's always been lacking fitness.

Yeah they may see Waterman as more of a project player now. Maybe keep him in on the rookie list for a couple of years then upgrade him. He does have some competition for the inside mid position now too with Redden, Sheed and Yeo on top of Shuey and co
