Not sure where you heard that in there.

I have seen nothing on it--I simply can't believe Woosha would do that

Woosha made some throwaway joke comment like if we play like that I'll have to consider it, or if we play finals I'll have to consider it and had a laugh afterwards. Wasn't actually throwing his hat into the ring.

Woosha also said he wouldn't be coaching at all next season in his pre match interview with Fox Footy.

no he said at this stage he doesn't see himself coaching next season

those 3 famous words in bold are the same 3 words used by Roos and Hird for months on months before finally accepting coaching positions

its the classic disclaimer

He said that if the boys make the finals he might have to re think if he stays. He said nothing about a senior coaching job. If he stays I believe it will be behind the scenes like DOC. Which by the way would be awesome if we play the style we did last night and got accurate in front of goal! Loved seeing a little mongrel from the team, loved it!!

I'm still bemused why there's so much love for Ratten.

I think too many people think the answer is trying to buy into the Hawthorn way, just as we all made the mistake a few years ago by trying to buy into "Geelong way".

I don't think it's just that. A highly regarded Malthouse took over and they went backwards with a similar list. It benchmarks what he got out of the list a bit higher.

Having a big laugh at the 22 people who voted for campo.

Fair enough he is a caretaker in a horrific situation, but he stinks. Won't get an interview. Maybe, MAYBE, he is ok at being an assistant.

Apart from Walsh and Fagan, the best candidate is always already employed at the club. For some, it's hard to break those shackles.

Campo got us a great win in the Showdown, we beat Richmond, if he gets us another impressive win or two does that make him a shoe-in for the job?

Senior coach is more than just gameday duties. He's doing ok there, no doubt, but he's basically benefitting from the foundation built in the preseason. He'll have to present his overall vision and plan like any other candidate. It won't solely be about wins/losses during his interim tenure.

Assuming you're talking Campo ? ....dangerous talking up a coach who is simply implementing someone else's gameplan & philosophies

Didn't we learn anything with Sando simply trying to cloan Geelongs gameplan without his own coaching philosophies
This is what is dangerous about recruiting coaches from successful clubs......whose coaching philospohies are clubs recruiting ?....given gameplans all evolve ....what happens when the coach has to think up his own strategy

I want a coach with:
1. Alpha Male personality

2. His own very strong coaching philosophies ......not simply mouthing philosophies of his former club

3 Age doesn't faze me

QUESTION:
If Campo is that good or desires the role & he's been at the club for 5 years ......why wasn't he interviewed 9 months ago ?

:thumbsu::thumbsu:......great post

I think it will be Bolton or Dew.

Mark Ricciuto was on triple M (dead set morons show) yesterday and they asked about when he expected to sign a new coach. His responce was; a week after the grand final. Then he back tracked by saying it will simply depend on when teams finish. I might be after the grand final or it might be before, it just depends on when that team is knocked out.

I got the impression that it could be Pyke, Dew or Bolton as they are teams who could go as far as the preliminary or the granny.

NO CHANCE Bolton .....great 2 i/c but not an Alpha male leader of men

Everyone knows Dew missed last time ......they won't go back to that well IMO

Adelaide have supported the agreement between clubs not to appoint coaches during the season until their season is finished ......gather Carlton as usual will ignore that unwritten recent agreement

Maybe he didn't have any ambitions to be Head Coach. Remember Phil Walsh also had no ambitions to that end either. Having been thrust into the role in the way he has been might just have stirred something in him so that he now has such ambitions.

That to me says he hasn't that burning desire .....3 young children is not conjusive to the time demands of a senior coach

Why would Mark Ricciuto specifically say they won't appoint someone until after the GF?

Bolton was last man standing after Walsh last year.

Rucci trying to get Campo to show his hand on the coaching job in the post match presser. Campo not biting.
And still trying on radio this am....
Worked so well with Primus eh....

I trust the board who did such a great job finding Walsh to find another top person

Wouldn't be surprised with another " outside the box" appointment

Because after last seasons appointment of coaches during the season disrupting finals preparations ...it was agreed by clubs that coaching appointments would be made after conclusion of teams campaigns

Roo just sticking to that agreement

Campo is not the man for this job long term. Great job, thanks for stepping in mate but the role of coaching was set in course by Walsh and in many ways Campo is just keeping things ticking over. A new coach will need to outline a direction and vision to inspire the squad.
