Name another * professional organisation that continues to change their access rules ahead of drafting each bloody year.

Just to highlight how shit this is, this decision has diluted the small forward draft pool by half.

Kako & Champion are the 2nd and 3rd highest rated small forwards in this draft class. They’ll no longer be available because Essendon and WC will 100% match any bids.

That leaves Berry and Bradley available to the rest of the clubs.

Benny Barret I think is NGA too, but he was likely to go later in the draft.

The whole Academy thing should be run by the AFL and the subsequent draftees should be available to every club.

Stop diluting the ****ing draft.

The AFL is ridiculous but if we have no NGA prospects now the rules are changing again because we stopped doing anything worthwhile with ours, that seems to not be anyone else’s fault. And if other clubs suddenly have access to prime draftees because they kept investing in academies even after the last rule change made it less attractive, that’s also poetic.

So in a comparative world of 2023.
Would it be like GC having access to Walter, Read, Rodgers and Graham.

And us being told, ‘no.’ ?

So they’d be saying, ‘let’s go with the GC plan of 2023, we like it better than the one we sanctioned for north.’

Sydney academy players train 9 months of the year 3 sessions a week
Would have to be better program than any junior in vic
