Nick Stevens Could be out for the season

You guys do realise that this is a neck injury...

He said he will be fine to play on the weekend, but if he takes a slight knock to the neck anything could happen, even just going for a mark or something small that seems like nothing could have a damaging effect on his neck.

While he says he will be fine, surely he must know that one wrong movement could cause serious damage..

He could even damage it at training, even having sex with his girlfriend or wife, who knows how bad it really is

Stevo looked stiff if you ask me. I am still concerned.

He said he had scans yesterday and today which implys todays scans were a bit more thorough. He gets the results tomorrow but said he will play on the weekend.

He was also asked about the Captaincy and whether or not his "alliance" with Mitchell went against him with the decision on who should be Captain. Nick made it very clear that despite what the media reported, there was no alliance with Mitchell and his relationship with Denis is as good as anybody's relationship with Denis.

They also queried him on Pagan's and Mitchell's relationship and said at the end of the day it doesn't matter because Mitchell is with the Bullants and Denis is with the Blues.

Another question was how Lance has been since all this business with his brother. Stevo said it hasn't affected the way Lance has been at the club and everybody is criticising Lance because he hasn't had as many possessions but Stevo made a point of saying that Lance is a leader on the field and the way he goes about his footy is inspirational. The way he addresses the players on and off the field is exactly why he was chosen as Captain.

They also asked him about Gibbs and the decision to have him in the leadership group and all Stevo said was that some players are born leaders, others grow into it and Gibbs is a born leader and admits it was a risky gamble by the coaching staff to put him in the leadership group but believes it was a great decision as Bryce has grabbed the opportunity with both hands and has even taken some other younger players under his wing.

They also asked why he wanted to leave Port, which he dodged and got away without answering but where he wanted to play as well and Nick said that he was 95% sure he was heading to the Blues because they had the priority pick.

The question about whether he will ask Denis to go one on one with Judd or Kerr on the weekend was also asked and Stevo replied with you will have to wait and see.

He said this group of players want to create their own history and get our club back to where it has always been - a powerhouse of the competition!

If he ends up not playing on Sunday than we'll know how bad it is... no one would be stupid to let a guy play when it's pretty improbable were going for the premiership this year!

But there was all this doom and gloom over Fev's knee... geez his knee caused him lots of grief last game.

i understand what your saying, but if nick says he's ok to play and the scans reveal nothing, then why not play him? at the end of the day, its nicks decision isnt it? if all the medical data says he is fine, then its nicks call i say:thumbsu:

Good report BG, thanks for thinking of us paupers without Foxtel.:thumbsu:

Exactly. And there I was thinking every supporter was just a coach. Little did I realise they are all qualified doctors as well. FFS.

You'd be surprised, we're all fitness experts and skills coaches

And here I was thinking that this board already had enough muppets on here, yet you bob up.

No need to feel so embarrassed. You had a right to worry. Just try to stick to your limitations in future.

Embarrassed, I am not embarrassed.

However, if HBF is reading this, he will now understand why I don't post in here..

When you get muppets replying like thylacine60, who thinks he knows all...

I wish this board good luck in the future, because I will not be posting in here anymore.

Oh and just before I go... IN: Bannister, OUT: Kennedy (Forever)! SACK HIM, DELIST HIM, FIRE HIM, LEAVE HIM OVER IN PERTH, WORST PLAYER IN THE AFL

And then you woke up. Bannister didn't even play for the Bullants yesterday.

I know you are only attempting to get a bite from somebody so here it is.

Pretty sure I wasn't the one with the instant medical prognosis on Stevens.

This is a football discussion forum. If there was zero speculation and zero unqualified opinion, this board would pretty much cease to exist. No need to get personal at all.

Cheers

Dont' let posters get to you DC. Some may think they know everything, and think they are therfore superior, and can't handle reading general discussion - which is, after all, what this board is about.

I have nothing against DC but it's pretty hard to take him seriously when he posts drivel such as Bannister in for Kennedy.

He hasn't even given JK a chance and is classifying him as the worst player in the AFL. FFS!!!!!

look bud that was the source... I think with neck injuries you need to realise that they are bloody dangerous... if you think that Stevo is invincible and you are too naive to believe that retirement could be the case check this out... http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,21533786-11088,00.html it happens!

Perhaps you misunderstood what I was saying.
If you've got that source, then thats great. The thumbs down was for not good news.

I am reading this DC.
Just roll with the punches and you'll be fine mate. Everyone has an opinion, and people will give that, and if that involves a bit of argy bargy, then fair enough. At the end of the day, we all want to see one thing: Carlton being successful.

Now that's what I call getting caught in friendly fire.

we will miss your jokes.

This isn't the first time I have voiced my opinion on the content of some of DC's posts and probably won't be the last.

Whilst we are all entitled to our own opinion, it is clear that DC doesn't like JK and goes out of his way to show it which in my book is uncalled for and not needed. Simple.

JK is a quality bloke, and very down to earth, although you would tend to expect that from someone who has grown up in country WA.

We all know that big blokes take alot longer to develop than the smaller ones, and I suspect that DC might have a fair bit of egg on his face in a couple of years.
