If Tim English was watching the Carlton vs Port game today I think he'll be getting pretty excited about heading to Adelaide Oval in a few weeks. Sam Hayes in his first game (although he's 22 y.o.) was absolutely gassed and having to stretch out his calves in the last quarter. It's not like Mark Pittonet is the kind of ruck to run you ragged and Hayes only had 68% time on ground as well! The only thing that might save him against an English run-around is we'll be coming off a 5 day break and travelling (Port has a 6 day break).

Interestingly Hayes was one of the names being bandied about here last trade period as a someone performing very well a state level but not able to get a game. If today is anything to go by we can't put much weight on SANFL ruck performances (and possibly gives context to Jordon Sweet performing very well in that competition).

ACL for Rory Sloane :(

One of my favourite non-Bulldog players for a long time, it would be a shame if this is the end

Hayes is second ruck to O’Brien who is a very good first ruck - Tim’s been great but there was a very informative article floating around today about ruckman and he’s still in the bottom 5 ruckman when it comes to hitouts, hitouts to advantage and especially hit outs to advantage per ruck contest.

Mark Pittonet has probably been close to the best ruckman in the league this year and really dominated that match up, as good as Timmy was around the ground.

Hayes is at Port behind Lycett (who is now injured) not Adelaide and O’Brien.

I’m sure Hayes will have more hit-outs than English but if he’s running out of puff against Pittonet at 68% game time then English will have a big one.

Will always be a Dogs premiership hero but Luke Dahlhaus is in the bottom 2% of players currently in the league right now and I'm not convinced he isn't in the bottom 1%.

Terrible, terrible player now.

Carlton are frauds lmao. Don’t even know how Carlton fans could celebrate this win. Voss had no response in that second half, 2 goals to 9. They have been extremely lucky so far this year.

Yeah they've gotten out of multiple games by the skin of their teeth; I know you can only beat who is in front of you and there's always an element of luck but they have gotten extremely lucky multiple times now.

Yeah he left us just as his body was breaking down and the endeavour started to fade. Four years on and he's been one of the worst veterans in the league.

Left the right time —————— for us 👍
Just shocking skills , that’s if he ever gets it .

The current top 8 has some sides it that have padded out their wins with some pretty middle of the road opposition.

Looking at the fixture, I see no reason why we couldn't tear through the next 10 games or so.

Pretty annoying how they are paying 50 for dissent when players just hold their arms out to gesture. Fair enough if they are abusing the umps but that is petty
