Freo are looking like genuine contenders, it’s a good young list too so plenty of potential there. Getting it done without Fyfe makes it even more impressive.

That Brodie trade was an absolute steal, he’s looking better than most of the mids getting games at Gold Coast.

Brodie is a beast. The Acres/Hill trade looking pretty good in hindsight too.

So experts tell me again how talented Carlton are?

This is fair enough. As dumb as it sounds W/L gets focussed on too much. If you lose by 3 points everyone talks about what's wrong with your team when in reality it's luck. Same with the win. Carlton are a middle of the road side capable of big quarters. I'd still say they're on the right track but they're closer to us in 17/18 than us last year.

One big difference for Freo is actually getting their 1st choice defence on the park. Doubt they'd been able to put Pearce / Logue / Cox / Ryan together on the park together many times at all over the last few years, especially with how injury prone Pearce has been.

Yeah I agree Carlton are heading in the right direction. Carlton have been lucky but they also have managed to play good footy that got them the initial leads, 1st quarter against Hawthorn and first half against Port.

I remember when Roos came over his biggest focus result wise was percentage because ours was so bad before. Didn't matter that we only won 4 games in his first year. We were in games for longer.

Roosy always said % is a very good indicator on how a side is going. Blues down around 13th/14th atm on %. Dees, Freo, Lions, Swans and Saints clear top 5..

The AFL should give him a blank cheque to go to the GC. Him or Ross Lyon.

They’ve dropped logue twice this year because the other three have been fit

First time watching Freo last night this season. Their defence system looks solid, was impressive. Also have some points of difference like Fredericks who finished with 2 fantasy points but spent the whole game buzzing around putting blues players off their kicks. They've got a good mix of hardness & speed in general, was entertaining.

The Freo bigfooty crew annoyed me during the whole Jesse saga, but I'm generally happy that it's Freo on the up while we're on top. Would much prefer a Freo rivalry to the Western.

Hill has been excellent this year for the Saints tbf in the games ive seen, looks fit.

Carlton's midfield plays exactly like ours did in 2020, too many players get sucked into the ball, leaving them vulnerable on the outside and to counter attacks. They'll win some game and look a million bucks at times, but will disappoint a lot too. Freo and Saints far more balanced.

That's why Ed Langdon was such a handy pick up, we took a while to really adjust to having a player on the outside, all the red mist stuff early on, but got better towards the latter half of 2020. 2019 we had nothing was painful viewing players just getting in the way of each other.

Zac Bailey is a gun.

Roos for sure. With an apprenticeship arrangement in place as with us. He’s very good in the role, and has enough ‘cred’ to get some media behind the project

Few glitches in the Metricon screen.
A players name stayed up there for 10 minutes for last goal scorer.
Few pixels disappeared ever 2 minutes
It’s pissing down though isn’t it? I’d give them a pass. My hideously expensive Wifi though NBN buffers Kayo every time there is a spot of wind.

Id say it was more drizzling down.
Sitting up The top of the grandstand the roof (that's not solid) mind you. Weather has subsided.
Not many here, maybe 7K
