Richmond get away with absolute murder when it comes to holding the ball. At least half a dozen obvious ones not paid tonight. They get it, take on the player, get tackled, drop it and... Play on.
Geee I hate Richmond, but gee they look good.. don't worry if we make it next week id be rooting so hard for Geelong, but its going to be hard, as they do look the best team...
Your namesake was awesome tonightI thought the umpiring was excellent tonight.
It was clear on replays that the vast majority of paid frees were there and the ones they let go weren't there.
They didn't get sucked in by the parochial home crowd, were consistent with decisions, didn't buy into staging, and had control of the game without imposing on it.
It's shame the only thing the commentators focussed on was a couple of missed or close decisions, which are inevitable even in a well umpired game. Not that I'm surprised—a culture of umpire abuse is still rampant in the football industry, and the AFL have no real interest in dealing with the issue.
I believe you lol, or the roles reverse in 2008It will be a 1972 Carlton type upset for Geel to win next week - if we get their

He was. That mark late in the last was crucial for Tigers.Your namesake was awesome tonight
Tbh this is my opinion, they are professional athletes with the best medical treatments at there door, there fitness staff, medicos will be all over it and that is not anything tonight will affect them..I suppose whoever makes it out of tomorrow night's game will be grateful Richmond played such a physical game in poor conditions. Might be a factor in the grannie.
The Lynch example just before Bolton kicked a point late in the game is the perfect example - took possession of the ball, took on the Port players, was tackled & failed to correctly dispose of the ball just dropping it cold and then toe pokes it after it's bounced on the groundNah, I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about players getting correctly tackled and stone cold dropping the ball or having prior opportunity, getting tackled and not disposing of it.
Tigers showed the remaining two teams just how hard they'll have to work to cause what will amount to an upset.
We can whinge all we want about Richmond's style, but they get the job done when it counts, repeatedly; it's not a fluke, and it is a method tailored for finals pressure; nothing fancy, brutally effective.
I have no doubt our very best is good enough, even though we have not beaten them ''when it counts'' (to echo Hawthorn fans) for a while.
What better day to slay the dragon than on GF day.
Gotta get there first, of course.
If we are unable to topple the Lions, and Brisbane then go on to lose the granny, then I will feel like we dodged a bullet.
But that's loser talk; I'd like the opportunity to see what this current model Geelong side can produce when the pressure is at it's hottest and the stakes are at their highest.
The problem now is they're winning clearences as well. Which was their weakness. Will be hard to beat.Tigers showed the remaining two teams just how hard they'll have to work to cause what will amount to an upset.

Very positive post.Tigers showed the remaining two teams just how hard they'll have to work to cause what will amount to an upset.

There was a slight nut punching. More in the upper dick area really though, probably not even a fine.Any reports?
I missed someone being nut punched?
Powell-Pepper gotta be one of the most overrated players in the game. Slow and couldn’t cover any ground at all after half time. Physical plodder that’s it.
