This year will be like 2015. Richmond, the experienced premiership side, loses its first final but then beats the minor premiers in a PF and beats their QF opponent when it really matters,.
Agreed.
Any team watching them tonight would not be salivating at the prospect of trying to stop their attack on a 3rd flag in 4 years.

The problem now is they're winning clearences as well. Which was their weakness. Will be hard to beat.

The thing which gives you a little bit of optimism/hope is the game is at the Gabba

Heard Hawkins interviewed during the week - he even praised the curator - said they love the surface and the ground

If the game was at Metricon i wouldnt back the Cats at 100 to 1

I'm not sure what it is really. Whether in Finals particularly that just about every game is a night match, that has helped the Tigers runball tap-on grubber crap, but they just seem to have the play that ekes out these wins in the Finals.

It's something i really find somewhat unappealing to say the least. We're all blessed (well most of us Cats fans here) to have seen genuine footy 'Played the game as it should be played', with high scoring, precise kicking and fast play on handballs. Richmond's runball pressure and just this knack of always being wherever a ball is heaved out from a pack, a contest or a spillage is just glorified rugby a bit, they take territory and then all fly forward to get goals out the back where they can. I thought the deliberate against the Port bloke was a bit hot, as he had two men within about a metre of his tap towards the line, and it's always these slugfest low scoring ugly games.

I'd love a side with pure football skill to just expose what Richmond does to the game as the crap it is....there's no question what we are seeing here is like the dark ages of footy compared to the Renaissance that Geelong did when lifting footy from the flooding Swans/Crows/Eagles tripe of the mid '00s. Can we beat Brisbane, and somehow be the knights in shining armour to save footy again?

I don't think i can take much more of Richmond style footy, and i actually think we need to beat them with our game, rather than join them in the gutter and beat them at their own fumbling, rushing, running and knocking-on style. It's not what footy should be in my opinion.
Agree. I have said for a while i cannot stand this chaos footy shite. They get the breaks, the run of the 50:50 calls, they win. Not so long I'll be gone as a follower unless it changes.

Nice to know you have faith in the side you claim you support to get the job done tomorrow night....not.

I don't think supporting the team necessarily translates to having faith in them.
We are not yet worthy of faith in them getting the job done.
Hope yes.

If Port won I bet it's only a fine, but as they lost I'm thinking the AFL will "make a stand" and give him 1 week

Yeh, can't have the AFL unnecessarily doing a Hawk on a finals contender e.g. Cotchin, can we?
Sorry, for one excited minute I thought the transgressor was black and yellow.

We slayed Collingwood and stopped them for back-to-back, if we can get over the lions I think we’ll do the same. Richmond absolutely beatable, Brisbane showed it only 2 weeks ago.
We beat them twice that season before winning that flag.
There is nothing in our lead up this year that shows we have what it takes to beat them. YET.
And Lions are yet to be beaten tomorrow.

Would be nice to win, of course... but faith? I don't see why you would. Brisbane are undoubtedly nearly unbackable favourites to win tomorrow. From whatever angle you look at it, the chances of Geelong winning are very slim. There's a difference between wanting your side to win, hoping they perform, and being realistic about their actual prospects. I would like to see Geelong win tomorrow night; I very much doubt it will happen. So many of the variables tip the outcome likely going Brisbane's way.

The most annoying thing for me if they do is that they will have done it without HGA. Makes this even more meritorious.
Yep, that knock people used to give them goes away.

Also... kind of wrecks the whole excuse about Geelong's record being so bad because they couldn't possibly travel from Geelong and be expected to perform at the foreign MCG environment.
