North Melbourne vs. Adelaide

Just... how. How does that possibly happen?

To give up a 38 point lead in the first half is one thing. But to then let a team kick 4 goals straight in the final minutes to snatch victory... North are the most mentally fragile, choke-prone group going around.

I don't know how you could support North - I would've had a heart attack about 7 weeks ago now. At least you can't say they aren't entertaining, for all the wrong reasons.

So last week North have the lead with less than a minute to go. Have the ball from a mark. Decide to kick long to a 50/50 contest. Cannot get the ball out of bounds or at least a ball up. Ball turns around quickly and opposition get a goal.

Blame everyone except themselves for it happening.

Then it happens exactly the same a week later. Gold.

No.

Last week the umpires cost us the match.

This week Adelaide deserved to win the match.

Who in the blue hell is Sam Kerridge?

Shit all over Firrito today.

I posted on your board earlier in the week about Kerridge, and was basically told by all and sundry that he would not make your best 22. Your mob said his 4 goals and 27 possies against GWS were irrelevant. I think your supporters know who Sam Kerridge is now??! 6 goals and 24 possies....... still wouldn't make North's best 22???!!!

Feel for the coach and players but not the North supporters that post on Bigfooty.

Absolutely! Have never encountered such arrogance, hostility, and unwelcoming attitudes on BF than I saw on their board this week. Brilliant result!

Good old North Melbourne

Watching the reply now, have North got a weak defense, or the just lack a bit of class??o_O

The midfield failed to dal with the transition. Too few left with too much to do.

When we switch from all out attack we struggle. When we ran and attacked we made Adelaide look second rate. This has been the story in most of our games this year.

This says it all really

We don't know how to win.

Maybe playing with 21 with Majak having very little input had an effect??
coach must be tearing his hair out!!!

The Majak hype was obvious to the few people around here that know anything about footy. He was a liability today, and it was always going to happen..

Just re-watching the final minutes, it's Atley who costs North the game. Goes up to try and kill the marking contest between Thompson and Rutten, completely misses the ball which lets his man Petrenko walk into an open goal.

He always has been a crap 1-on-1 defender but now it seems he's directly cost his team a game of football with poor defense.

Was he a iiability against WC??

Maybe the bulldogs game was an aberration!!

TBH still a fair way off IMO regarding the feel, a lot more than Bicavs and a young NN

Carrying Majak with Goldstein and Petrie maybe you were just overrun but I gotta say your defense does not standout anyway

That's certainly a major concern. If he's going to play defense he's got to stand up and make the big plays at important times, something he hasn't done yet, and has directly cost his team. He should study the vastly superior players from his draft like Heppell and Bennell to see how you perform for your team under pressure.

just had to watch it again to believe it....

some noticeable things:
- at one of the stoppages swallow got the ball and tried to break through a tackle when he could have just thrown it on the boot and gotten meterage.

- Atley falling for Lynch's dummy was a mirror to stanley falling for rob murphy's yesterday that led to his goal

- Nobody presented when petrie had the ball and also, giving the free kick to petrie instead of allowing atleys mark actually hurt north as petrie could have moved on to the next marking contest and could have made a better contest or even taken a mark.

-Atley leave's his man (petrenko) and air to contest but completely misses the ball, but prior to that as the ball goes in you can clearly see its 4 on 4...where is the spare man in defence?

Swallor had a good game thoug, always looked threatening
You mean lynchs dummy dont you?
Atley leaving pets was a huge mistake, even moreso that he went for the mark! should have killed the ball and put it in the grandstand

anyway go crows!!!
