Somebody else makes up a rumour on another message board, and Dave repeats it hear, saying he has heard a rumour. It's not "untrue", per se, but it is misleading.

In Regards to Swift and Trengrove:
Do we all forget so soon the lessons learned from over looking Judd and Selwood because of injury?

The fact is these kids are young, there bodies are growing and subsequently they are much more susecptible to injury, but they will come on and eveyone who over looked them will again ask themselves why?

In Regards to Blease:
I do have one concern on this kid, from those I have spoken to that have played with or against him it seems that he may be a little laid back. This attribute prevents good juniors becoming good AFL players every year. Attitude is the key to succeeding in the big time and i question whether his is right!

In Regards to Sidebottom:
Good hard at it footballer who will definately win his own ball. The thing I like about this kid is he is a big game player and has proved it all year and cappped it off with a stellar TAC grand final. As this is a Collingwood forum we all know that every second game we play is big one and we need kids that arent going to be over roared. Similar year to that of Dale Thomas before being drafted and feel he will be high on the radar.

I think you mean overawed..

But I agree if Sidebottom is still avaliable I would be thrilled to take him with 11.

I will probably one day be proven wrong but I would rather risk taking someone who hasn't done their knee twice - images of Beau Muston keep cropping up when I think of Swift. But hey i am keen to be proven wrong if we do pick him up!

Muston had a knee reco, and then the graft they had to use to fix his knee didn't take - The screws came loose and the graft tore. Subsequently, in the pre-season he did his knee again. That's one knee with serious problems.

Swift, on the other hand, had a knee reco after doing an ACL, and the reco has been fine ever since, while he injured the other knee in a way that didn't require a reconstruction - It was a medial or something. He hasn't had any signs of a recurring knee injury on either knee, AFAIK.

And IIRC we never had the chance to pick either Judd or Selwood as both were already gone by our pick in their respective drafts.

Hard to choose frankly. Ultimately we need a bit more class in our midfield and whilst Heyne, Swift and Robinson really appeal its the potential of Blease that really excites. Quick, sublime skills, poise, vision are his trademarks. Will also do the little things.

May have gone with Swift but given I don't know the medico report I will stay away. Big wrap for Robinson and Heyne as well around here for us.

I agree with Snoop - Blease Potential is hard to not look at and Hine has picked on Potential before with Reid,Pendlbury,Dick and Dawes

Personally I don't go much on Blease from the limited footage I've seen + the stats on him seems to be too much potential not enough actual...

I reckon A.Smith may even be a smokey at 11 someone everyone rates smooth moother great skills fast, can see a Pendlebury esk type selection with him.

Smith is an Interesting one, Like Pendles his Stokes are Rising Very Fast in the Draft and Some people do think he could be a 1st Rounder. Smith Actually reminds me of Luke Hodge.

I think the delisting of Thoolen might mean we are considering someone in the pre season draft. I am not entirely unsure we won't try and nab him in the rookie draft again tbh. Like TRS I reckon he was clearly ruck or bust and I reckon they might take the chance on him growing and bulking up a bit by putting him on the rookie list.

I hope the poor kid doesn't read this forum but i must say I am glad we delisted Thoolen. I went to a couple of reserve games and you could tell that he was not cut for AFL football.

Seems to literally just run full pace everytime. Not necisarily a good thing.
He doesn't seem a good judge on the depth he needs to kick with, barely any were to his target's advantage.

Reminds me a bit of Rhyce Shaw to be honest. I'd pass on him.

You could say the same for Blease half his kicks were to contests and/or didn't hit the target...

Smith finds more of it, is quicker, good kicking action with depth, provides great run, is good size, reads the play well and is very versatile playing HB MID then forward..

Some of the contests he kicked to were due to extra numbers back if u rewatch the clip, but he just needs to slow up and pick the option it can be tuaght.

Preferably i'd like him at 29 but I think a he will be gone by then.

Swift is my #1 at 11.

Again, I do not profess to be an expert as I have seen little of these players but based on newspaper reports, Emma Quayles knowledge of the draft and the AFL.com stories I see our opportunities this way:

1st 4-Watts, Rich, NickNat & Vickery
Bombers-Yarran
carlton-Hurley

That leaves picks 7-Lions, 8-Tigers, 9-North & 10-Crows

I have a feeling Tigers may go for a tall, like Trengove at 8.

That means of the 3 remaining picks, still available are:

Zeibell, Sidebottom & Hartlett. We just need 1 of Lions, North or Crows to take a player outside these and we have our pick.

But as has been said before, you never know with Hine.
