Pies/Swans/Blues 3 way for Fev and Jolley

LOL

When you are you guys going to get it through your heads that Sydney WILL NOT be trading it's pick 6 for Fevola or anybody else for that matter.

We are also highly unlikely to even trade pick 14 if we end up with it, unless it was for a proven ruckman but there aint one on the market besides Jolly who is leaving us.

We have a developing full forward in White, a dual Brownlow Medalist in Goodes who will play forward from now on and our first pick last year in the draft was for a key foward in Johnston from SA. Not to mention our chronic need for a couple of young midfielders in this years draft.

Nothing, I tell you nothing points to us wanting or needing Fev for a first round draft pick.

FEV's management have said that he will only consider a trade to Collingwood. He is still under contract so he MUST agree. He has already said that he will only go to Collingwood.
Fevola will go where he's sent.

He has no power after what he reportedly did at the Brownlow.
Fevola will be at the Swans in 2010. I don't care who believes it or not.
The Heatley Stand from here and a Carlton forum has been posting the same thing.

Swann will tell Fevola where he can go.

Fev needs to get out of Melbourne and away from his so called mates who work in the media.

Swans fans won't care if he's kicking goals.

Fevola has another five years left if he stays fit.
This is a three way being talked about at AFL house today:

Swans

Gain: Fevola pick 43, pick 46
Lose: pick 6, Jolley

Collingwood

Gain: Jolley
Lose: pick 14, pick 46

Carlton

Gain: Pick 6, pick 14
Lose: Fevola, pick 43
We might have to trade pick 27 to Sydney to get that deal across the line.

I don't doubt that this might have been trade put forward, but it's too generous to be true.

This would have taken up five minutes of their time to come up with it.

And another five minutes for it be to scrapped by the Swans.

From a purely football perspective at 29 Fevola is too old for the Swans if they are serious about rebuilding. He won't be around when they next challenge for a flag. They should hold on to the current first rounder and the one they will most likely get for Jolly and use it and continue the process of adding exciting young talent to the list.

And thats without considering his off field issues. Its the off field issues where the only real justification for the Swans to recruit Fevola fall down - marketing - falls down. Make no mistake. Anti AFL Pro Rugby League journalists in Sydney would like nothing more than for Fevola to be recruited by the Swans then have one of his infamous alcohol fueled melt downs. They are furious that RL has got a bad reputation from players' off field incidents and that the AFL has a better reputation. They would be sitting in wait and history tells us that Fevola would eventually oblige.

The Swannies should not be the easy answer for the Navy Blue with White CFC monogrammed problem that is Brendan Fevola. Reports of what went down on Brownlow Night tell us how difficult a problem he is for the Blues to resolve. At 29, with a huge contract to fulfill and his boorish and beyond Browlow indiscretions known to all other clubs his trade value should be minimal.

Carlton

That balances it up a bit.

Will Fev go to Sydney? I reckon he'll be happy with anyone who is kind enough to want him.

Will Roosy give up pick 6? Roosy might be thinking, hey, I'm replacing Hall with someone younger & better (Fev), plus now I have 2 draft picks not one. Remember its Roosy's last season & Fev will take him further than any draftee. Also, didn't Roosy say Sydney can't afford to bottom out, as they'll lose a lot of their fan base.

From Adam(?) White 927 twitter:
TRADE WEEK: Brendan Fevola could head to Sydney as part of three-club deal which will see Darren Jolly to Collingwood

Don't if he is sure. The fact he says 'could' leads me to believe he just read BF.

Sydney also can't afford Fev to stuff up again neither with the West Sydney team coming in.Time will tell though.
I think this post might be off the mark. For all the high moral stance the AFL are taking over off-field issues, and while I admire the way Sydney has handled the Hall scenario, some of the money people in the AFL and the Swans will have noticed that Rugby League in Sydney is growing despite - or perhaps because of? - the off-field disgraces. With Hall going and West Sydney coming in perhaps Fev is just what they think they need. Disgrace though he is, he probably won't cost them fines and suspensions - only off-field noteriety.

Swans

Gain: Fevola pick 27, pick 46

Collingwood

Carlton

This deal is as good as done!

Massive leaks coming out of Etihad today on this. I have now heard it from 3 different places.

Swans have offered Fev 2Mil over 4 years.
Only sticking point at this stage is Alex Fevola, and getting her to relocate to Sydney!

Deal will be announced tomorrow!

EDIT ____ AFL House...not Etihad my appologies for getting the venue incorrect!

Hope you're right PM.
Would be sensational to end up with selection #6 & #14.

HBF...I have been posting for 2 weeks that Fev will be in Sydney and i have been rubished for it a number of times.....

Deal will be done tomorrow!

So we pay a first + 3rd round selection for a 28 yr old ruckman and also facilitate a trade for Fev to Sydney?

I don't think that's going to happen.

We would be expecting a little more comp from either end IMO.

Also, Sydney would be getting creamed.

They would not be putting 6 and 14 on the table.

If they did, it would be a stupid move.

Syd have already said to Coll that 14 was not enough for Jolly.

you will also find you will get pick 7 from WCE for Davis

Since when do marketing departments decide on trades?

I will spell this out for all of you again slowely.

SYDNEY WILL NOT BE TRADING OUR FIRST PICK IN THE 2009 NATIONAL DRAFT TO ANYONE, LEAST OF ALL CARLTON FOR FEV!

The make-up of our current list and what we need draft day means we are not in a position to do this deal.

If Carlton are serious and desperate and will accept a late 2nd rounder or third rounder for Fev with the Swans paying his enrire salary then the deal might get done, but that is about as likely as me seeing snow in Mt Buller in February!
