This may really be the greatest team of all.
Great win, every single player did their part and more.

Re: Post Your Congratulations to the Cats in this thread please

Well done, Cats !

You deserve it - the greatest team of all !

Re: Congratulations Geelong

Awesome stuff Catters. I am a football romantic and pretty much cried like a baby watching the monkey jump off the back in what was one of the most awesome displays of football I have seen.

Forget the odd tryhard fan that infests every team, there is a lot of long suffering loyal supporters in here and I can only imagine how they feel.

Enjoy the moment and be safe in the knowledge you have made history and have the perfect answer to anybody who ever wants to say anything about the club.

To Jim Boy and Jub Jub and the other long time BigFootyites .... you bloody beauty!

Scary to know that any team wanting success over the next couple of years has to go through this awesome side.

Re: Post Your Congratulations to the Cats in this thread please

Congratulations to Geelong whom after a slow start to the season developed into a really classy side, full credit to Bomber whom was a tough player whose playing style was all over the Geelong side today.

Stokes, Chapman, Scarlett, Johnson, King, Ottens etc were all great, I could empty the thesaurus to describe how good Geelong were.

Well done cats!

Complete class from the first bounce right until receiving the medals.

Congratulations the wait is over!!! :)

Re: Post Your Congratulations to the Cats in this thread please

Congrats Catters - Best team all year, won all but a handfull so it would of been an injustice if you lost

Well done to Steve Johnson - the way hes earnt his place in the side and the respect back from his team to win a norm smith is a brilliant effort!!!!!

Re: Post Your Congratulations to the Cats in this thread please

I think today was probably the darkest day in the 137 year history of the Port Adelaide FC. I can't believe we put up such a spineless performance.

That said, as someone who has lived in Geelong and whose family still lives there and whose closest mates are all Geelong fans - especially my best mate who is an absolute die-hard Cat supporter - well done to you all and I hope you all enjoy this moment for it's been a long time coming.

I have a lot of affection for the city of Geelong, it's a great place and the people there are first rate, I'm sure it's going to be one hell of a party in town tonight. I wish you'd not done it against us (and in this manner!) but I do feel happy for the Geelong FC fans because they are proper, knowledgable supporters from a strong community club - much like my Port Adelaide FC.

Well in Geelong.:thumbsu:

Congratulations...

Thoroughly deserved success for Geelong.
A more dominant VFL/AFL year doubtful has been seen before.
Pre-season cup, regular season dominance, finals and then Grand Final destruction. Norm Smith medal, Brownlow medal, newVFL premiership, Rising Star Award.
Just amazing.

It couldn't have happened to a better Victorian club.

Hopefully, we, Port Adelaide, can springboard from this annihilation and become an even better club in 2008. Maybe even redemption in the 2008 Grand Final. Still a great effort for our club to have achieved what we have so soon, being so written-off.

Anyway, congratulations.

Geelong = by far the best team this season. The perfect balance of attacking running players & tough no-nonsense tackling. The Cats are the consummate masters of dispossessing opponents and streaking back with great skills toward goal. Tough hard skillful committed & all words that can be used to describe the 2007 Geelong Football Club team.

The monkey is finally gone. Geelong can start changing the image of their club (& indeed even the image of their city) from now on. :thumbsu:

Well done Geelong. Must be a great day for you all! Steve Bracks and Ted Bailleu will be partying on down tonight!

Thank You Cats

Im glad Geelong won they were DOMINANT OUTSTANDING FAST HARD SKILLFULL and they were like the killer team.

People are talking about West Coast we would have been BEATEN HANDS DOWN BY YOUR MOB today even at full strength dont worry about that but not by 119 points.

This is by far the best grand final performance I have seen in 20 years it was a pleasure to watch.

It was a football clinic fantastic and congratulations enjoy the flag.

Now treadrea and Chad Cornes the arrogant pricks can **** off to adelaide where they belong

bloody inspirational team effort, not just today, but week in, week out, the whole season, coulda picked the norm smith out of a hat, but well done johno, and well done geelong

I can't believe it! It has not quite sunk in yet but we are the greatest team in the country!!! I cried like a baby after the siren, seeing Billy Brownless in tears and how much it meant to everyone just was unbelievable! Thankyou so much Geelong for the joy u have given me and soooo many others. We have been waiting our entire lives for this day and it will never be forgotten. Go the Pussy Cats!!!!!!:thumbsu::D

P.S. Alan Scott... YOU WERE RIGHT!!!!

Well done guys, seriously.

Your mob is one of the most perfectly formed well drilled units I have ever seen. I can see a long stay at the top for the Cats... they seriously would have beaten any premiership team of the last decade with that team (except maybe the '99 premiers:D).
