I read that a reason that Freo ditched their green base guernsey was because they blended in to the oval too much, is their truth in that?

No, they ditched it because it looked shit.

I think T Rockliff is playing alfx he looks pretty useless imo.
Im convinced he will be as bad as j watts we have shot ourselves in the foot with these guys, on big money and producing absolutely nothing!

Big money?

Um?

International Rules is actually a great game!

I really like it when it’s played at a decent level. They tried to do it with sub-par teams for a few years and it’s no surprise that interest waned.

It has some great elements, I like the scoring structure and the extra value you get for higher levels of accuracy i.e. not going completely mental with 20 point goals for regulation shit.

It’s probably not suitable for “growing the game” but it’s a far superior spectator sport to AFLX.

I'd rather write on my eyeballs with a rusty nail.

This describes my past week. FYI. Don’t ever get anything lodged in your eyeball.

It’s klem. If we traded in peak Gary Ablett jr he would be silent then deride the club for breathing oxygen the next week. I’ve been here 12 years and I’ve never seen 1 post from him that doesn’t scream the sky is falling in.

2005 was probably the best year of his life.

At Metricon in the tail end effects of cyclone Oma watching the Suns and Lions. Suns kicking with the strong South easterly breeze. First goal Rankine slices thru 3 Lions players and kicks it from about 48m out. 2nd goal Lukosius marks 50m out in NW corner of the 50m arc. Goes back and slots it kicking slightly into the breeze and was never going to miss. Rest of the quarter he gets it 4 or 5 times and is clean every time.

First thought is - work on him for the next 20 months to get him to Port, Costanza.

Didn't notice either team use the new rules to great advantage.

No TV coverage on screen here but Suns videos being shown at quarter breaks.

Showed the Suns women's team gearing up for next year's AFLX. Was an impressive video but helps when Qld have the 2nd highest number of registered female players and have had so, for almost all of this decade that there is good depth in local players to have a second team in SE Qld.

Made me a little envious we can not put a video like that together of our up coming team and the girls talking about their dreams and hopes of playing footy in general and looking forward to playing in the AFLX next year.

Shaun Hart was in the video at half time talking about being happy to be back at the Suns and working with their academy. Forgot he worked for us until my brother inlaw asked why did he leave Port.

International Rules was alright when there was biff and that little dog used to play as well, he was a star that little pooch.

It's strange watching players run thru the goal square and run 15m and kick the ball out after a point, to about 65m from goal. Probably have seen it 4 times today and each time the defender was under very little pressure, as either the attacking side player was further back than 10m from the square, or slow to react to the player running thru the goal square line.

Defenders might get away with easy clearances the first few rounds as players get used to the new rule.
