The crows are alright. Skiing over the top of a shithouse North Melbourne at home in round one is one thing, sustaining it for the season is another thing entirely. Yesterday at Adelaide Oval was two mid table teams going at each other. Remember, North Melbourne started their pre season almost a full month after Adelaide began theirs and it showed. This is the one positive about our tough first month - we're playing teams with a similar preparation for the season as us.
I still think they have a average list and the hole that Paddy will leave when he goes home at the end of the year will be of Grand Canyon porportions. manys years of bottom dwelling ahead for them i reckon.

Elite ruckman.
Elite key forward.
Elite key defender.

That's an awfully good template to start with, unfortunately.

It's not like they're lacking in midfield either. Some smart drafting, trading and good development in the next couple of years and they could be genuine top 4.

Each team has had a big score turnaround in this match. First Clark misses an easy mark close to goal and the Hawks take the ball and run it down for a Roughhead goal. Then Breust, of all people, misses an easy goal and Geelong move the ball down for Clark to run into an open goal.

Both teams are making the type of round 1 errors we saw yesterday but it still is a good game.

Pricks like hawkins and clark or roughhead and gunston make me relise **** we need a keyforward like yesterday thats the missing piece

Maybe we should use Redden as a forward mostly.

Imagine a forward line of Walker, Tippett and Gunston

Imagine a team with tall timber stocks of Walker, Tippett, Gunston, Jacobs, Maric, Talia, Davis and (if he'd stayed injury free) Bock. They'd be a flag chance.

schulz ryder westhoff, our forward line is just as potent, especially with gray wingard monfries.....
You would like to belive that but when jay is on the wing westhiff is in defence gray in the middle monfries the sub i woukd be happy with a stay hime monster forward just my opinion dont wanna be rude

Fair call: one game at a time and all that. But just once it'd be nice to see us dominate those pretenders!!!!

I'd like us to do the dominating on field rather than talk a big game in here. Let's remember, for all of our gains in the last couple of years we're still to finish a season in the top 4. Let's act like Hawthorn supporters when we've won a premiership.

When St Kilda sucked balls in 2000 they got Riewoldt and Koschitzke.

When Hawthorn sucked balls in 2004 they got Roughead and Franklin.

When Collingwood sucked balls in 2005 they got Thomas and Pendlebury.

When Carlton sucked balls in 2005 they got Murphy and Kennedy.

When we sucked balls in 2011 we got pick #6 ONLY. Now thankfully that player was Chad Wingard but having only just missed the wooden spoon on % with just the 3 wins, there's no way we weren't entitled to Chad and a Patton/Cameron type - and there would be our super elite premiership dynasty big.

Pays not to bottom out right as priority picks are removed thanks to perennial tankers and not one, but two expansion teams are picking the eyes out of multiple draft classes.
