if that was true the moron doesn't realize that would make her club complicit in the tampering, there is no moral high ground imaginary or not

To claim any moral high ground from the fetid sinking bottom of their evaporating little swamp requires a special kind of cognitive dissonance.

Spot On.

And if the goal is to stop moronic booing from Victorian supporters at AFL games then Cornes surely has to understand that HE has a major role to play by not using JHF as a platform.

Because I am 100% convinced that the vast majority of those who were booing at JHF at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night had no issues with JHF but were doing so because of the juvenile public spat over JHF that Cornes and King are engaging in.

And when it comes to a public war of words between David King and Kane Cornes - who do you reckon most Victorian footy fans will lend their vocal support to?

The 'you started it!' school yard BS that has now going on between the two is just dumb and demonstrative of the fact that neither of them GAFF about the impact it is having on a 19 year old kid in just his second year of AFL.

If he hasn't already done so I would think that Hinkley should get on the blower to his old mate Kane to be the better man and STFU.
They both love it because it generates clicks.

Won't half kill it, it will never work in NSW and Gill knows it, it won't work anywhere else but SA for numerous reasons. WA could make it work, and probably get good crowds, but way too far for the Vics to travel.
WA also won't work for East Coast broadcast times. You'd have to run with a double header with the first game starting at 11am and the second game at 4.

The WA teams often get the last game of the round, because that 1:30pm/2pm bounce time in WA works into a twilight start in Melbourne without having to play an actual twilight match.

I hope Kane Cornes reads this and realises that the ends do not always justify the means. Get off him you are becoming a parasite.

3 main things SA has over WA when it comes to gather round are proximity to Victoria, time zone and stadium location. Unlike Adelaide Oval, Optus Stadium is not within reasonable walking distance of where most people would be staying and is also just generally on the wrong side of the city for proximity to anything interesting to do before or after the game.

Having said that, I think it's a concept that should be rotated around a bit and such a long term extension was possibly unwarranted.

ST KILDA forward Anthony Caminiti has been sent straight to the Tribunal and is facing a ban of up to four weeks, while Collingwood's Taylor Adams could miss the Anzac Day clash against Essendon after being offered a one-match ban.

Caminiti was reported for striking Collingwood defender Nathan Murphy in the final quarter of the Saints' six-point loss at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

Lol draft tampering. North Melbourne were forced to pick Horne-Francis with the #1 pick?

The mental gymnastics of supporters is astounding.

JHF saying he's happy to go to whatever club has the #1 pick is literally the opposite of draft tampering.

SA is the best venue for it, but it shouldn't be a permanent fixture in any one state, even if it's best suited here. SA, WA, NSW, QLD, shit even Tasmania should get a go. It should just never go to Vic, since they have so many games each round anyway. When you are getting 4 or 5 games every round normally, nine isn't a massive jump. Plus people in Victoria are going to have the opportunity to see every team multiple times each year without a gather round. For everyone else going from 1 game to 9 is a big difference and there are years where supporters of Vic sides in QLD, NSW, SA and WA won't get to see their side once, let alone multiple times.

It should be a permanent fixture in SA. The AFL isnt about evenness

No other state would do it as well

It may have been mentioned already, but Nathan Buckley has been spruiking the idea of a round in Melbourne where they just play at the old suburban grounds like Princes & Victoria Park, Glenferrie, Junction Oval, etc instead of the MCG and Marvel. I'm not sure if this brainfartwave involved all 18 teams or just the Vics. Bucks recognised that the Vic government would need to stump up the enormous loss in revenue

Sounds like the Hawks have asked to play at Norwood, again next year.
So MT Barker makes way for a game in the Barossa Valley.Or do they play one more regional game.
Hope Mt Barker gets another crack at the big time.
Four years of Gather Round should turn Norwood,Mt Barker and the Barossa venue.Into decent Stadiums.

Bucks is right, modern day footballers need to experience having cups of piss thrown on them coming out of the race and then cold showers after the game.

Just watched the hawks game. Genuinely have no idea what we saw in impey to draft him so early
Speed. We had no small defender with any speed in 2013 and we lost several games as a result of small forwards cutting us up.

I was there that day. We got thrashed. Mead was dominating the ruck and got tunneled, went off and norwood took over. Darren Mckay had a great first quarter until he got sling tackled head first into the outer fence and went off. Then Pooley went off. Had Smith and Fiegert rucking. They won by 70 points in the end.

How it started.

It will work in Hobart and also Launceston in 2027 when they have their shinny new stadium and team.

If Tassie government are smart, they insist 2027 - 2030 it is in Tassie if they have to help stump up $750m+ for a roofed stadium.

Plenty of Vic clubs have a rich history of Tassie players and they will join in this big marketing effort.

Tasmania have a smaller Population than Adelaide, Hobart and Launceston also have smaller hotel capacity, its also out of driving distance to every state bar Victoria.
Let alone the flight distance is worse for everyone bar Vics

If the A(V)FL has taught me anything it's that when something like Dreamtime at the G or the Carl/Rich season opener occurs a couple of times in a row then it becomes a hallowed, storied, and sacred tradition that would rip apart the very fabric of the game if it were to change.

It doesnt have to be as big crowd wise, as Adelaide to be a success. The AFL wants the new Tassie team to start with a bang not flounder like GC and GWS.

Plenty of Victorians in school holidays will catch the ferry across Bass Strait or fly there.

There is something like 100,000 ex Tasmanians who live in Victoria. Plenty of them follow footy and will go down and watch their team as well as the new Tassie team.
