Stay on his feet instead of choosing to dive Blakey. He can run up and just tackle him, he doesn't need to take him to ground.

Of course, umpiring needs to change to actually reward tacklers though, instead of letting a guy try and fight to break the tackle.

Like actually umpiring to the law that says you have to dispose of the ball immediately when tackled.

Exactly, but it seemed like a strange thing to do at the time. There was some suggestion that they left him out of indigenous round too. Maybe they just assumed they were going to win anyway.
