With more and more umpires seemingly without a 'feel for the game', why isn't there more of a concerted effort to transition players just out of the game into umpires?

Particularly now with 4 on the field, a player could carve out a further 15 year career and essentially never have to 'work' again.
Why would they when they can waltz in to a media or assistant coach role, professional or semi, with little to no effort required?

Wish they'd fine the camries for the goal celebration dance step cringe rubbish.
Rachele should be fined just for existing the annoying campaigner

With Sydney likely losing both McCartins to concussion, there's speculation that Will Gould might finally get his debut, nearly a decade after being drafted. Risky though, with the game being in his home town - they might need to do a FIFO job with him on the day of the match so that he doesn't get any of his mum's home cooking.

Wow…. Did he get drafted what he was 12?

Jokes aside, if they want to play a consistent structure, they will need to play Gould. They do have Melican as well.

Hate to say it, but Sydney’s KPP recruiting is awesome…. They have depth at almost every position and have trust in a system.

The Crows have a 5 week run where they play
Collingwood home
Geelong down in Geelong
Bulldogs home 50/50 match.
St Kilda away
Brisbane away.
Maby win 1 of those 5 games.
There bubble will well and truly burst.
They will pull there Down Hill Skis out of the cupboard.
If they win 3 of those 5 games they will make the top 8.

Melbourne is the only place on earth that could produce a show as bad as Bounce.
It used to be really funny about a decade ago, but ever since they introduced live audiences it's become really boring.

Some of the episodes between 2013 & 2014 are really great, most of them are just getting a bit old in the teeth now.

Take a shot for every Crows player:

- With "Rory" as their first name

- With "Mc" at the start of their surname

- With a scrawny dark haired mullet

And you'll die from alcohol poisoning before you even make it to the end of their roster.

Time to sue Freo

With their game starting at 4.40pm and the sub-standard lighting at N0rd Oval, they will disappear into the murk after half time.

St Kilda, the only undefeated team on top of the ladder, and the Magpies, the second favourite to win the premiership with most betting agencies, will face off in the Sunday twilight timeslot at the Adelaide Oval. Now there are suggestions the league has made a huge mistake with the fixture with some commentators suggesting the match should have been prime time at the home of football.

The match is expected to draw a crowd of up to 50,000 at the Adelaide Oval, but plenty believe the clash would have attracted a crowd of more than 80,000 at the MCG. To make matters worse for the AFL, Essendon’s clash with the Demons is also suddenly a major event match with both teams sitting inside the top 4 after four rounds.

With the Bombers and Demons up and about plenty believe the Saturday night fixture at the Adelaide Oval was a wasted opportunity for the game to have got a crowd of more than 70,000 at the MCG. Several footy commentators in recent days have suggested the AFL should have made a snap decision to bring the fixtures back to Melbourne, to be played in front of a combined crowd of around 150,000 fans. Collingwood president Jeff Browne said last week he was “disappointed” for Magpies fans about the scheduling of the game, but also said he supports the Gather Round concept.

They do realise this is an EXTRA game because of gather round?

The afl just can’t do a national competition can they.

You don’t hear NRL commentators whinging when two Sydney teams play off at Suncorp Stadium at the NRL magic round.

if these cucks had their way every game every week would be in melbourne. and the interstate sides would thank them for the privilege.

And the only game on FTA in Melbourne that day is Giants v Hawthorn, just to outrage some of them even more.

Poor big Victorian club… you have to play at an unfavourable time, at an unfavourable ground without national coverage…. Welcome to what the non-Victorian teams face on an almost weekly bases.

and this rubbish after the Victorian media said that the showdown should be played at the MCG to get national coverage. What sycophantic insecurities….

a part of me actually wants the VFL to move the games…. Just to further prove how bias the administration is.
