Yes I reckon they will go with an experienced coach.
Maybe Carr will stay under Ken’s guidance for one or two years and then take over the Head Coach role here?
Carr loves Port and he is loved by the current squad. His hands on role with the mid field at training every week tells me he isn't going anywhere.

He also comes across as a bit media shy to the point of despising the BS.

Said it before and I am just guessing like everyone but I reckon a succession deal has been done with Josh to stay at Port with him happy to sit out of the spotlight until he feels he's ready. And to his credit Ken is more than happy for that.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking but it fits with what I'm seeing. And given I'm loving what I'm seeing this year on field its probably the gold old confirmation bias doing its thing.

I’m more worried about freo than Richmond.

freo have come calling before for Carr.

if they keep going the way they are going, it might be freo poaching him as head coach.

On the couch last night they talked about the demise of Freeo game plan from 2022 without realising they are describing ours in 2023 and that Carr is the missing piece from Freeo? Just the game style is hard to back up every year

"They're such a young team"

Hopefully he moved back to Adelaide because he wants to be here for awhile. Getting invaluable and hopefully enjoyable experience with the other line coaches in the coaches box without all the media focus with Ken on the bench too.

After the 2004 GF Josh went back to Perth so that he could play with his brother at Freo (at least that was one of the reasons) and then he came back to Adelaide and played some games for us - his playing days were over by then. At the time I remember Josh saying that in his rush to get back Perth he completely did not consider his wife’s wishes as she was an Adelaide girl - family and all that! He felt pretty bad about it. And yes I know he went back to Perth after his North Adelaide stint.
I truly believe that Josh loves living in Adelaide and he loves it at Alberton.

What a merry go round!

Hardwick would come to Port, but would he really want to take on the Gold Coast poison chalice?

While Port have Hinkley looking like a hero coach, and Carr bubbling away in the background, they would be delinquent if they do not at least around Hardwick out.

The same go for the Suns. Yes the AFL would love Hardwick to take the job, but they would be remiss if they don't also talk to Hinkley.
Then you have Richmond on the lookout, plus WCE and Freo could also do anything with there coaches!

Strap yourselves in, it is going to get pretty wild!

Suns is currently 13th, but only 1.5 wins behind 8th place.

They had an 1-4 start. They are 6-5 since. They were 6-3, before facing the current Top-2.

They play a struggling StK next at home. Then, their remaining schedule is:

GWS, a
BRI, h
WLK, a
SYD, a
CAR, h
NTH, a

They are pretty much a Finals contender. When was the last time this happened?

The timing is really odd. Unless there’s something big going on internally, the firing is unreasonable.
Hardwicks announcements last week that he wants to coach again is the only reason I can think of.

Was her sources last year right about Clarko to Gold Coast too. That's why people question her, she gets them wrong sometimes, this one she got right.
Probably was, until North decided they’d prefer to shit the bed or (as is just as likely) the AFL knew the shit storm that Clarko was about to bring over the Hawthorn stuff.

The other option would be that Koch offered Ken 2 years.

Ken goes to GC and says give me 5 and I'll come but I need to know now.

Toby Nankervis has been banned for three matches. He’ll miss against West Coast, Hawthorn and Melbourne.

Interesting if it is Hardwick & his management told GC they need to sack Dew before he'll look at it.

I'm not sure how you twist that any other way than knifing a mate.. that friendship is cooked.
It's why I'm not sure I'm buying it. Why would you walk out on Richmond to go to Gold Coast, knifing a mate and colleague in the process?

Richmond are on the brink of a rebuild. So swallow your pride, learn from the mistakes made by the likes of Clarkson and Simpson and get out before it all turns sour.

SUNS are a new challenge, they've got some good young talent to work with. Plus beautiful weather, laid back lifestyle, sounds not bad.

Beautiful weather/Laid back lifestyle.

Tasmania will win finals before Gold Coast.

I seriously believe that. In Tasmania you go to bed when it's a good idea to go to bed.

The same as Sicily - what a joke

Very lucky it was not a lot more. His intention was clear. The victim took no further part in the game. There are zero mitigating circumstances.

But he said sorry so there's that. And from Richmond.

FMD.
