At Port 20 years ago we had Lade who was handy resting forward as was Primus, plus Primus was also a beast that could rove himself and they had to change rules for him. Then there was Brogan who was handy at drifting back and taking marks in defence.

Teams play the standard tap ruckman because that’s the best they have and they do serve some purpose.

Unfortunately elite Ruckman like those you mentioned above are hard to find and once a club gets one they don’t let them go.
If we had a Primus type in our team today I doubt anyone would beat us with the midfield we have.

They're playing pretty well, they're just allowing Collingwood to score insanely easily. All their general play control at times counts for nothing when they just allow Collingwood to go e2e consistently and goal.

Not surprised by the blow out. Stopped watching to watch SANFL, but Freo were doing ok, just not able to stop them scoring, but they were playing well. I guess the unfortunate reality for them was that was as good as they could play and as soon as the Pies started to get on top they must've just blown it wide open quickly.
